Is this rake beatable for a beginner?

Hello, at the moment I try heads up on 24h poker.

The buy-in is: $0.25 + $0,05 the winner gets $0.50

Im not so unhappy with my results:

107 wins and 87 lost.

$0.50 - $0.30 = $0.20
$0.20 * 107 = $21,40
87 * $0.30 = $26.1

sad Is this rake beatable for a beginner? I mean I have 20 more wins than defeats but still in -$EV.

The rake is far too high. You

The rake is far too high. You won't find much tougher games if you can afford to play the $3-7 levels on other sites. It depends on your bankroll of course. 200 games isn't a ton, but you're doing well so far, the rake is just far too large for you to succeed and expect to grow a decent bankroll to move up long term.

No

Executive summary: No.

Details:
0.25 + 0.05 game
=> rake = 0.05 / 0.30 = 16.7%

I went through the calcs for finding a breakeven winrate given the rake here:
http://www.husng.com/content/roi-and-micros-living

You can find the breakeven win rate for a given rake using:
w = (ROI + 1) / (2 - 2r)
w = (0 + 1) / (2 - 2 * 0.167) = 60.0%

You need to win 60% of your matches to break even with rake this high.
Not sure what format / speed you're playing but generally this is not achievable over a large sample.
For example, players crushing hyper turbo games win about 53% of games.

Your sample of 107 wins and 87 losses.
w = 107 / (107 / 87) = 55.2%
=> This is a good win rate heads up
=> But it's not going to matter if you're playing games with an unbeatable rake :(

If you continue to achieve similar results, say a 55% win rate.
In a game with rake this high, your ROI would be:
ROI = w * (1 - 2r) - (1 - w)
ROI = 0.55 * (1 - 2 * 0.167) - (1 - 0.55) = - 0.0837 ~ - 8.4 %

This is worse than the - ROI you accept when you play roulette at the casino lol.
You're burning money by playing a game with rake this high.
