hey guys,
i play husng regular speed for about 9 months, managed to have some success in 0.5$, 1$ and 2.25$ achieving 1.1K profit playing only these games. I managed to enter sharkscope profit leaderboards in 2013 and 2014 also for 2$ and under and 2-5$. Now I'd really like to climb up to 5$ games, but psychologically i'm very afraid of losing it all. Can someone who had been in the same position help me with advice? Really like to hear some opinions. Here is my graph.
Pretty impressive results to make 1k @ micro micros.
If you left all your money online you're easily rolled to play the 5s, even a bit higher.
Why not take a 10 or 20 buyin shot @ the next level?
That is, move up, concentrate on playing your best and if you lose X = [10, 20, whatever] buyins, move back down?
- Move up
- Players still suck at the $5 and $7 BI
- More money, more money, more money
Hi.
thanks for the replies guys :)
cdon3822, thanks for the support, right now i have about 700$ in my roll, i took shots already at the 5's that went well, but each time i'm playing 5's i'm shaking man loool i'm gonna do what u say, try out the 5's, if I lose something like 10 buy ins i move back again :) (too soon for 10's i think, gonna try 5's first). Above I'm gonna post my 5$ games ROI, but it's a micro sample.
Barrin, thanks also for the reply, i'm gonna move up and try to see what happens with 5$ players and try to upload my results.
If I crash and burn i skype you guys for coach immediatly :D
my micro stakes ROI for the moment
hugs guys :D
At least you have the opposite problem to most players
=> being too conservative rather than being a degenerate shot taker
Good luck at the tables :)
hahahah i'm such a nit :(
will try bomb the 5$ stakes, starting tomorrow!
thx, GL u 2
Yer but you won't go broke playing overrolled.
Regardless, being emotionally affected by your results will stunt your development as a player.
And if you run bad, just watch this (guaranteed to make you feel better):

The good players just divebomb and win!
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL brutal "noo mooney in heads up everyone's soliddd"
i should do like that crazy russian, deposit 500$, find a hyperturbo lobby, join fishenzon and shove allin w 2nd pair on the turn in the first play :D
EPICCC :D
hey guys, so I started playin' 5$ and this is my graph for today:
EZ mode.
Looks like you're ready to take your shot with Fishenzon :P
hahahahha, i was kidding obviously, fishenzon is 2 good
hey guys, so today i didn't play much and ran into some coolers, so it didn't ran as I expected.
Plus, some 10$ regs started playing me as they saw me sat in the 5$ lobbys but overall made 1 buy-in loool weeeeee
Whats up guyssss, haven't posted here graphs since start of March so here goes some changes i made and some graph update:
- switched from HM2 to Poketracker 4 (runs alot smoother, and pc doesn't crash while i'm in close to allin situations so +ev :D)
- managed to get in top 5 in the next sharkscope profit table (2$-5$) for regular speed
- failed to move up to 5$ because my full houses gettin' cracked by quads lol and ran preflop into some AK vs 5To, AA vs J5o, KT vs 63o, QQ vs K6 and gettin cracked all the time as u can see from game 71 to 106 :S soooo got into 2$ again :P
- maintained black card status for 30 days
graph since March:
May goals:
- Move up finally to 5$ :D
Hugssssss
Hi there jlt84
I was in a similar position fairly recently. The most important piece of advice I can offer you is this: do not make the mistake of adjusting your game when you move up stakes. There is a big temptation to think that you need to adjust to the higher limits. Take every game as it comes and don't change your strategy.
Your strategy should depend on the player you are playing against and not on the stakes. There will be more better players at the higher stakes, but also many fish.
So, what you are saying is, that the default strategy on the $1 and on the $500 should be the same?
Hi.
No, but the default strategy on a $1.50 table and a $7 table should be.
adam25185,
Thanks for the advice. When i played 5$ i almost never shoved in spots where i felt i was way ahead (and knew i was getting called alot of times) when playing complete donks because i tought they might suckout on me on the river. But then later in matches end up getting coolered so i think that was kind of a leak. I tought because i would outplay them post flop, and to reduce some variance, i almost never 4bet shove w good hands. I changed my strategy when playing these fishes so i think that's a good advice.
whats up guyssss, so month update:
- managed to climb some places in top 5 in sharkscope profit table (2$-5$) for regular speed [x]
- failed to move up to 5$ stakes for the 2nd month in a row - can't handle the 5$ swings, FML ;(
- maintained black card status for 30 days [x]
May graph:
June goals:
- Shot in the head?
Move up bro. It always feels like this initially when you move up a limit. Your BR is subject to bigger swings, but you will never get rich playing $5 and you won't get much better either...
Hey man nice graph. Moving up can be daunting at first thinking the regs will sit you as you are new, but just keep playing your game that made you money in the previous limit whilst studying and analyzing your game to improve. The regs will leave you alone after a while once they realize they have no edge on you to beat you and the rake and you will just be back to playing mostly bad players. Its good to have bankroll management but be careful your not costing yourself money if you can be beating the $5 games just as good.
