Hi,
here is the new rake structure at Pokerstars:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/internet-poker/announcement-pokerst...
Besides that HU CG Rake DOUBLED. I used to play NL50-NL100 + 30$ HUSNGs and now at cashgame/hypers they rape us completely.
Turbo/Regular Speeds SNGs yet to come. I am totally devastated by this announcement.
It seems everyone is gg now, including PS.
What does "gg" mean?
This is extremely disappointing.
It's like unreal, GG
Hello, when I put my key, and appears a start and I can not change, this is my key Product ID D9AA-6C30-93A3-9985-859D-2896-B3DE-4CF3. What can I do?
RIP Hyper Turbos... :((
Wish they would get rid of hypers no that they are not beatable
I think they are still beatable.

I just don't think the investment required to establish yourself as a player now is worth it at all.
PS is probably happy to only have rakeback pros long term.
This is a huge blow to hobby grinders & the profitability of online poker in general.
wtf is goin on with the 7s hyper hu lobbies?? 3 lobbies is normal, atm only 1 is available. this shit is tilting me hard! RIP Hypors
another nail for the coffin... online poker is dead. thanks PS
Hey guys, while the rake increase is a big bummer I think it's important to take a step back and rationally evaluate how much this hurts us grinders.
At the 7s the rake has gone up by .43%. This means if you had a 3% roi pre-rakeback before the change (which is an ROI you could certainly improve upon with study, guys in the coaching/staking program regularly achieve 4%+), you will now have an ROI pre-rakeback of 2.57%. Really not that big a hit. Especially when you throw in that you have rakeback, even with a 25% rakeback level it makes the increase in effective rake even lower--it is now only a difference of .32% from what it was originally. This means the difference to your bottom line will be fairly small--if you had 4% roi post rakeback, you are looking at a new roi of about 3.7%, ie a pay-cut of 7.5%.
While the rake increase is painful, it certainly does not change the profitability of this format. Hypers will continue to be an incredibly profitable game where after working hard on your game you can achieve very high $/hr with significantly less variance than most other popular formats (MTTs, 6max, etc). So let's not lose our heads of this :)
I guess you're a glass half full guy.
Another thing to consider is the effect on cartels as you move up.
For example @ $100 games, if you have to play 5k games breaking even vs the cartel and rake was 2% before it used to cost 5,000 * 100 * 0.02 = $10k to gain entrance to the cartel.
Now it will cost 5,000 * 100 * 0.025 = $12.5k.
Coupled with larger swings once you actually establish yourself because of lower ROI.
^^ I'm not sure whether these volumes are in the ballpark in the current state of the lobbies? But the figures can be recalculated pretty easily if you disagree with the assumptions.
AND the SIGNIFICANT rake increase sends a pretty clear message that PS does not care about feedback from an established reg quasi workforce.
So don't be surprised if rake is increased further to redirect any profits in surplus of rakeback back to PS' bottom line. This is quite likely to happen if PS doesn't see a net decrease in rake from customer price elasticity. That is, if volumes don't decrease significantly after the rake changes, it will validate their decision & they could decide to increase rake further.
From a pure economic stand point you have to respect PS management's strategy. As a disgruntled subcontractor now faced with a renegotiated lower rate without any need for consent, I think I will be withdrawing my business completely.
you´re right on the one hand, but your answer mostly holds true for guys who
a) have the time
and
b) are willing to spend it
on poker.
for guys like me who are neither willing nor able to spend 8 hours a day on studying and playing (and therefore will never achieve SN or even SNE), the increase in rake is a slap in the face, because it now renders an otherwise profitable and fun hobby pretty much a waste of time.
cheers

So the Revolution Network is having now the lowest rake for Hyper HU at least for the 7$ (6.85+0.15) plus 30% rake back flat.
Unfortunately at Revolution there are many rooms with a bad name. I've made some excellent experience with Intertops but traffic was really low there, but if we all change to intertops the traffic increases ;)
can someone please compare all sites with current rake % for HU SNG Hypers i dont want to play on stars if they charge more now
Would lowering the rake for rematches quell the anger or would that even be possible?
