Hello guys,
I try to keep it short cuz nobody likes to hear a boring story. I started my Poker journey in 2008 and played few HU games. I was a horrible player but back then 20/30$ limits weren't hard to beat. I switched to mtt-sngs on Stars and was really successful at the 45/180s. Then I started adding tournaments as a result and final tabled some majors on stars and other mtts from 5 to 320$ bi range. I was doing well not really reaching the elite players but doing fine. Down the road I got tired of mtts since I wasn't running so good during times and still had to handle the enormous swings. Plus its exhausting I was playing 6 days a week @ 10h/day. In the end I cashed out a lot around 2012/13, forgot about mtts and tried out other game types. Honestly I didn't succeed at all. I tried almost every game type out there. In sngs I feel the edges are damn small especially on stars. I remember playing the 30$ games fr and 6max with only one rec player at the table. 15$'s a bit better but even as Supernova the hourly is not really worth it. I was only able to maintain a positive winrate at the 15$'s and lower. But 0.20-0.30$ av. profit playing 100 games + per day with all the other robots out there is not really a fun thing to do.
In 2014 I started a start up project with a poker buddy of mine. I am really looking forward to it and after all the planning it's been getting serious lately. But despite that I always felt bad about how my poker career ended. Plus I really need some money to live on during 2015 since I can't pull out money off the project. We are trying to expand and obv sold a few shares but it needs some time. So I was looking at the job market as well but you know how it is. 4-6 hours of poker everyday while working on something else is much better suited than working a 9-5 job. I was thinking it might be a good idea to give husngs another try. Cash game is not for me and I don't think it would be a good idea to start a bumhunter career these days on nl50 ;)
Instead I will start around 10$ sngs. I am looking into hypers too, since I figure the hourly could be better. I got a to do list for what's next:
- Get a decent Hud for Heads Up Games
- Find the right site to play on (probably leads to either more recs or more rb)
- Set volume goals for each week (I think for starters 5-600 games is fine depends on the number of hypers ofc)
- Post hands on this forum (at least 3 times a week at first)
- Take part in hand discussions
- Check out the free information on the site (free content)
- Buy a content package from the site around first week of Dec
- Move up to 20$ games (after beating each format)
- Update this thread - hopefully with good news
Good Luck!
