I´m an ex 6-max NL cash pro that decided to quit poker on black friday, for several reasons.
Years after, my optional incomes didn´t turn as profitable or enjoyable as I hoped, so after trying spins and go and find them a lot of fun, I decided to try to get a second wind.
Context:
I´m trying to get Staked at 30s and eventually 60s. But it seems no stable wants me. But at least I was given an out. If I manage to get 37,2 ITM in 2.5k games in 15s. I will be seriously considered to be staked at 30s.
That sounded like a challenge to me!.
So starting may 1. I will Grind 170 games per day, for 15 days, and trying to get 37,2 Evitm. I don´t know if i can make it, but i will try. I will post my progress each day wtih a day graph and a ¨since started¨ graph.
Also I will choose a hand from the day to post
Finally my bankroll for 15s is 100 BI, wich according to swong simulator, I have 2.5% of busting before ending my run. If i Bust, I guess my poker career is over.
Will I get the second wind of poker and get staked at 30s for a career of glory or bust and go back to the boring food industry? let´s find out in 15 days!

If you are good at HU i think you can do it, but be careful with your mindset on three handed, you have to play too much tigther.
I am a newbie on HU a Spin i am over %36,6 EVITM, despite i began with a flat EV on first 300 games, i have payed about 900 games on $3 and $5, i think that level could be higher at $15 but if you are good at HU i will be more possible to you.

Summary: I started the day feeling like the king of the world, and ended feeling hopless. I hope tomorrow gets better. To be honest 36,1% is what i have in my spin and go history. So ending like that seems fitting. But is not enough and I don´t know what im doing wrong, which is the most worrysome feeling you can have.

Summary: Wow Hope is back full throttle, sadly at the end of the day a friend came to visit and i showed him a few tourneys and got more distracted than i expected and did play a little worse. But overall a great day, hopefully more are to come.

Summary: I guess when you have a big winning day you shouldn´t be sad. But I am, im here to create a good evitm to get staked, and I get this. It is a bummer, we are still on target thanks to a miracle day 2. But I feel like I throw that miracle away. The saddest part, is that I wish I could say i got coolered all day, but I really didn´t. I guess my hero calls didn´t work out this time and my big bluffs where hero called. that is the reality of things. Its also possible I did get bad luck is also possible i did play worse. that is the reason is so hard to improve at poker, because the feedback is so weak and is so hard to know the reasons of things, specially when you are not good enough. I´m doubting myself and i fear that will make me play worse tomorrow, or maybe i should really play different?. I don´t know
To make matters worse at one point during the day, I get the second 10X of the run a 4X and 2 2X, as soon as i see the prize pools I power outage appeared. I used to have a ups during my career, but I ruined it last year and i didnt get one, and after all i never got a use of it, i just bought it just in case and during years and years its use never came. So didn´t bought one up again. And because of that i didnt have one now. As soon as the power came on I did got online and buy one that will ship tomorrow.
I didn´t ask stars for the hand histories and tournament histories since i think its fair to keep them out of the challenge, no need to add -2k chip ev, for something that will not happen again.
Sadly it seems the power outage did ruin stars config file somehow and somehow the hud configuration, so as soon as the first 4 tables poped out i had to play without hud and the sliders where different and it really distracted me and did some suboptimal plays (for my standard play) because of that.
I´m going to sleep a little bummered today, hopefully tomorrow it doesnt become a disaster.

ok, yes you are right in the sense that overall over the 3 days im still well overtarget, but the day in a vacuum is a disaster, 35%evitm is losing money prerakeback.. Nobody would stake a guy with 35 evitm, I know i wouldnt.

Summary:
Yeah an even worse day. And now we are off the mark by far wtih a evitm 36,5.
However surprise. I´m not bummed today!, The reason is that towards the later half of the day, is started to realize what is going wrong (or least think that i realize, you know how tricky poker is in that respect), I did stop for a while to make some analysis on my database on my play and I have planned overall changes for my pre and post flop ranges, and I tried them during the rest of the day, and they felt nice despite not getting me much chipsev. I really got coolered during the end in some very bad spots that came together.
Im really feel hopefully about tomorrow. Now if tomorrow my hope gets crushed....its gonna be a sad day.

Summary:
I feel really bad complaining, for respect of everyone out there that is in a doomswitch. Look at all those chips i do not deserve, and all those buy isn and money i dont deserve. I was that fish that just river everthing once the cards are flipped.
Im just glad to win so many buy ins whatever way they may come.
But let´s get to serious business, my itm in the day with the highest amount of tournaments is a miserable 36,1. Now we are reallly off target.1000k tournaments in and an itm of 36,4. I need some really high luck there, clearly I have leaks, and damn I have no idea where they are.

Im about to start my run today, I will change my strategy to the one I used in march. I would say which it is, but to my surprise someone on the games ¨wished me good luck in the challenge¨

I will keep posting daily updates including my graph on however i finish this day. But in my mind the challenge is over and i failed at it.
I will try again in the future if in my normal grinding I average 37,2
That's just a bad day. Everyone has days like that. Tomorrow will be better.
What's your ITM % for the whole challenge?
I'm sure you could find a staker if you are above 36.5% ITM, your are clearly a profitable player, but if you are rolled for 15s why don't you keep playing spins with your own money?
It's better to play 15s with your own money than to be staked for 30s in my opinion....

For the whole challenge right now. I have 36. (I had 36,6 before this day).
In march I had 37,4 in 15s
But then in april i moved to 30s with the money i made at 15s and my itm at 30s and 60s was 35,4
It´s not money what im really looking for, what im looking for is to improve.
Ive tried to get discussion going with other players, but people rarely comment on hands i post here or 2+2. At least not at the rate i need. I posted in 2+2 looking for group and got 0 answers. I posted in the member forum here and nobody did answer at all.
I spent like 1k in videos and software, not to say the amount of time i spent watching those videos, free videos, I think i watched like every minute if primordial AA so far. Read mersennary book and spent a lot of hours analysing my rny ranges and whatnot.
Since March 1, I spent every waking time in poker either playing, studying, thinking, or whatever. Because Im against a race to build a fundation strong enough that in june I can say no. To what?
In june I can take a job that pays 4k a month, but im going to be blunt , I hate the job compared to poker, I really hope i can give a pass. but to justify it (to myself and my wife) I need to have a solid ground in poker. I don´t need to win 4k to live. But my minimal expenses is 1.5k.
I can justify living with1.5k for a few months or a year. (so far in march i won 4.5k but I lost 1k in april, all this post rakeback)
Getting staked would be that ground. But what im looking for is the group, the coaching, the discussion with other players. I want to be coached by someone that is invested as i am in me winning, and that will only happen if they stake me. And clearly groups of players out there are improving secluded out there, and getting staked will get me there.
I clearly did everthing I know i can to improve myself, but if anything i didn´t improve (if we go by itm alone this month i have a lower itm than in march, I think the games got thougher though,despite people deny it)
Summary. I will keep playing by myself with my money at 15s, without thinking much about it, depending on how it goes i will present my results to all stables i know, if im not taken by any stable, I will accept the job in june unless my evitm in 15s is on the 36,2 at least and my my bankroll doesn´t get destroyed.
Once i finish this challenge, I will start a new one for the rest of the month were my goal is to fish the month at 36,2
I would accept that job if I where you, 4k is not bad and you can play poker in your free time.
At 36% ITM you are still profitable but your sample is too small to predict your future results, and its not easy to make 4K or even 2K in poker every single month... you will have many months when you make $0 and you still have to pay bills and food and everything else...
In few months when you have much bigger sample and if you happen to win lots of money you can always leave you job and play poker full time...

It´s not like that This is a very demanding job that require my full focus, and I can´t quit If i get the job i have to commit to it at least for a year. If i get it, I won´t have much free time. I can´t just play poker on the side.
i think the right decision is to go all in in poker or to focus on this other job, going the middle road....

Ive did halftime poker in the past, it was a terrible decision i will not make again.
I think I would call in that hand, but it's not an easy call.
Not many hands beat you and your range looks very weak when you cbet the flop and check back the turn.
Many people bluff lots of river in such situation.
Only hands that beat you are:
A high flush, but at 16bb deep most people 3b jam all Aces preflop so this hand is not very likely.
K high flush is much more probable, it's probably the most likely value hand here.
There is 1 combination of straight flush I think.
He sometimes jams J, T or 9 high flush but most people would check-call with those hands so you wont see those hands very often.
So if he only jams those value hands he should have lots of bluffs in his range and I would probably call... but I'm such a calling station and I always call so I might be wrong.

what are winning ratios in the HU part that correspond to an itm of 37%?
My point is, i want to see if in the HU portion im doing worse or better than in 3way. Specially on the deep parts (17+BB) and im not sure how to check that. Any ideas?
My guess would be to check just BB/100 adjusted in SB and BB at those deeps HU, but even then what are corresponding BB/100 adjusted?

A short day, with bad itm, but no matter what i do, it seems i win money anyway.
Today is the final update, with no graphs, and no games.
The update is that based on my results of this challenge so far a stable decided to stake me. I finished the arrangements today and my schedule and rate of play does not fit the challenge. For that reason, Im announcing the end of the challenge.
I would say the result is a failure because I failed to accomplish the goals, but a success in that I got staked which was the real goal of the challenge.
Now I´m staked and lets see in a few months how this pan out.
