Hi everyone. Making some goals for 2015
Aiming this year to make 50k - 75k + on stars / ftp combined and make supernova.
Will be playing mostly $30 hypers and $60 turbo husngs on pokerstars and $50 hypers and $100 turbo husngs on full tilt.
Been also studying different formats as I would like to be solid in more forms of poker so will be grinding cash games this year also.
I am still running my owning stake and coaching players.
Also been doing video reviews for players outside my staking and did some videos for this site last year and appreciated the good feedback they got.
I will also at some point take some time aside to battle to get into higher divisions.
Goals
1 Make 50 - 75k combined on all sites and formats
2 Make supernova
3 Keep beating $100 turbos and $50 hypers and move up to $200 turbos and $100 hypers.
4 Battle 100s turbo division and become a member
5 Be a good winner in the cash games, keep studying and working on my game and move up the stakes.
I will try my best to keep the forum updated better than last year with graphs and answer any questions you guys have, Arron.
Hi Arron!
I've same goals for this year. There is only one small difference with buy-in levels. I start from the lowest level and try to beat $15 hypers and $30 turbos end of this year.
I am also still running my owning stake, but I have full-time job therefore hard to improve my game and play appropriate quantity at same time.
What can you say about FTP traffic and FTP players? Is it better than PS? Are players weaker than PS? Which site do you prefer to play from lower stakes?
Keep going! I hope you can achieve your yearly goals!
Best wishes,
lecsito
Hi Lecsito
There are more lobbies on FTP but less players. Pokerstars has more players but has divisions you will have to battle if you want to open sit higher. Id recommend open sitting on lots of sites as the action is getting slower with recreationals playing the spin and go games and learn a new format also. I wish you well with your goals too, Arron
Hi Arron, nice to see you are still doing well and good luck with your goals. I am interested in your thoughts when you say "sitting on lots of sites". Do this mean you think there is money to be made on different sites other than pokerstars and full tilt? Also when you say "learn a new format" it is something that i have been thinking about for a while now. Hyper HUSNG are pretty tough now (from a 7's, 15's reg) and the player pools seem to be dropping. Would Spin and Go's be a format to really push for a large +EV edge? I know is obviously needed with the high rake, the fact you play for x2 the Buy in majority of the time etc. When Spin and Go's become 2 handed the games are a certainly softer than HUSNG heads up matches and with a new HUD for Spin and Go's vs a large pool of rec's is seems they may be profitable
Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks and GL at the tables
Ben
Hi Ben, hope the grinds going well for you too.
The action is getting slower that's why I would recommend open sitting on as many sites as possible. The more husng lobbies your open sitting the more games you will get. As for spin and goes, I don't play them right now but I see lots of hyper players leaving the division to play them so I'm guessing there is money to be made at them. I have yet to see a players graph for them over a large sample but I would still imagine there is a lot of variance in them.
So from ur post it's my understanding that there're cartels for turbos too??, if so do they also start from 30s+??
VHL
Turbo divisions don't start till 100s on pokerstars, 30s for hypers.
Hey Arron,
We spent some time in the staking program together. Nice to see you're still doing more than fine! Keep us updated!
Hi Robin, I remember you in the program. Thanks for the comment, I hope things are going well for you too.

Hey guys, been mostly playing hypers lately with some cash games and battling to get into 60s division

Nice 30's graph! GL vs 60s div! Did you play at lower stakes? Can you post graphs 15s or 7s?
Ty
Yeah i started at 7s

Solid graph on 30s. GL batteling 60s members.
Hey Arron, great graph at the 30's. GL with your grind. I wondered your thoughts on improving your HU poker game. Do you have a routine for learning the game or any useful tips. Do you leakfinder your own game on PT4 after sessions? I am really trying hard to improve but seem overloaded (bad excuse i know) with Flopzilla, Icmizer, Will Tipton's book, PT4 metrics, GTO etc and as i do not have any sort of poker group to bounce ideas around i wondered your thoughts on improving independently or is that a leak in itself?
I seem to be losing too much EV in my Big blind especially.
GL
Ben
Hi Ben
I mostly review poker tracker games after reg battles or where I feel my opponent may have adjusted in game and want to be one step ahead of them the next time we battle, I am mostly looking to parts of their game I can exploit where they are too aggressive or too passive. Most of the work I do is off the felt making sure my defense strategy vs common reg strategies are well protected and balanced otherwise I would be easy to exploit in certain situations that come up often. Vs fish I am just playing an exploitable strategy that I feel is the most profitable one as they aren't thinking about ranges so I dont have to worry about how unbalanced I am.
I would recommend getting a coach you would want to learn from or getting a subsciption on a site like runitonce. I would also spend a lot of time working on a good readless preflop charts vs regs and constructing balanced postflop ranges. The more time you spend constructing ranges the more you will become familiar with what hands you should be barreling and checking back and what hands can protect you on future streets vs floats and probes which aren't good enough to 3 barrel for value etc.
Also I would surround yourself with poker players who you can learn from and get yourself into some sort of skype groupchat.
Hey guys been a while since i posted. Been busy studying and battling and doing some coaching, over 1/3 of the way there and on course to get into 60s. Also took this month off $30 hypers division to try spins as I heard the action was really good there. Here is my graph so far for 15s
https://i.imgur.com/oo9H7kK.png
I will move up to 30s when I have 1200 games with 5% spins ev so hopefully don't run horrible coming into the last 1/4 of the games. Im really enjoying the action in them so far, makes a big difference than having to wait for lobbies then waiting for someone to sit you when you can just open 4 tables whenever you want. Not to mention people are playing recklessly loose which you can really take advantage of playing a solid 3 handed strategy. Once you get down to the last two your gona have a edge if your successful in husngs.
What my spins grind looks like, I made up my own simplified hud cause i wasn't really liking the other ones when multi tabling.

Hey everyone, finished the 1200 games, will be moving up to multi tabling 30s.
https://i.imgur.com/EW5UtnA.png
Was mostly just playing on intuition but been putting a lot of time into learning the most profitable opening and 3bet shove ranges. Its been fun learning a new game. I thought i would hate spins but I'm actually really liking the action in them so far.
Been studying and playing $30 spins lately. Here is a up to date graph of my journey at spins so far.
https://i.imgur.com/ucQ9SqO.png
Below is chips won / lost from all positions at different stack sizes over 42,000 hands which i use for all formats i play.

Happy with SB and BUTTON so far, BB is understandably the hardest to make a profit given you have 1bb invested with all your range and have to play out of position around 1/3 times vs a tighter range when the button raises your big blind.
Will continue to keep studying my hu and 3 handed game and hopefully can bink a big multiplier soon.
Ill be leaving for the vegas at the end of the month to play some tournaments and lots of cash games and will try to fit in some sight seeing :)
Hey, did u buy any spin package?? like coffee's or primordial's??
VHL
Hey Vherreral, I didnt buy any packages but i did watch some of Primos streams before he went on holiday.
I have mostly just been playing on intuition and doing lots of work away from the table with software to make sure Im not making loose 3bet shoves or calls which is probably the biggest mistake you will see in the player pool.
Hey guys, just got back from a week in Vegas and dived straight into the spins again. Didn't want to feel rusty so spent first two days studying the ranges and trying to memorize the most common spots that come up.
I actually left my hyper division to concentrate on these full time and move up to the highest stakes in them.
Played my first 1000 games now at 30s, results are below. My aim is too have around 5% spins ev to move up for 60s.
http://i.imgur.com/Bm2R4BT.png
How was the Vegas trip Arron? What games did you play while you where there? Were the cash games soft? Hope it all went well :)
Where did u get the ev (spin) and ev roi (spin) stats??, they're custom made rite??
VHL
The evroi is a custom made stat, although you can make similar reports with other stats.
Hey Ben. Vegas was amazing, id recommend anyone to go there, looking forward to next year already. Mostly played no limit holdem cash, although i did play plo first night drunk and lost 2 buyins in 20 mins lol
Got your msg, will reply to the thread soon.
Hey everyone. Been a while since i updated. Been mostly spending a lot of of time on studying spins. Moving up to 60s from tomorrow onwards. Had good ev over 3k games at 30s.
http://imgur.com/TXHZf7t - Had a good month so far after working on my ranges and cutting back from 4 tables to 2 or 3. Looking forward to grinding 60s

I think there is something wrong with the image.
I am interested to enroll in a short term 'staking only' program or a long term staking combined with coaching program.
NIce start Aron, keep it up! Usually moving up in stakes its the other way arround :D
Jepser just delete - at the and of the link, thats the problem. Cheers!
Thanks! And a nice start indeed!

I didnt really use spinwiz until i played 60s where there is a lot more stronger regs. As of tomorrow everyone will have to manu reg so be interesting to see what happens. I expect there to be a lot of battling for a while until some regs stop playing due to losing a lot of money or not having a profitable ev like they had while being able to use spinwiz but we will see. My aim is to get 4.5% - 5% ev over 3k sample before i move up to 100s so wish me luck.
Amazing stats! I barely got your ITMev at the lowest stakes and you're having them at these high stakes. Very good job. Hopefully I am able to become as strong as you're soon.

Thanks Jesper, I have been following your posts too
Since spinwiz has been banned I have defs noticed more games vs 2 regs but I dont mind that. I actually prefer it being banned and nobody having an advantage table selecting.

Will update again around the 2k mark, gl

Update on 1199 games at 60s. Been a lot more reg games since spinwiz got banned so iv just been studying more and playing less tables when theres regs on my tables as they take more focus. Happy with results so far. Another 1801 games to go.
Hey guys. Been mostly playing on another site since the pokerstars changes and the amount of 3 reg games at 60s.
Also been studying a lot using softwares for 3 way situations and hu. Results below.

Would u care sharing to which site u moved to play spins?

Hey, its 50s on ftp. There are still 3 way reg games and more waiting around for games but i like the weekly cash rakeback on there.
http://imgur.com/gXq4ut0 2k sample, going to challenge myself to push my ev to 8% or 70 chips adj per tourney over 3k games whilst 4 tabling. I plan to go back to stars soon as i hear its not as reg infested as it was in December.
Update after 3600 games.
http://imgur.com/nrmqkId
Happy with my ev as iv been mostly 4 tabling and the games have gotten tougher with more regs multi tabling also. Gona aim to get another 2000 games before full tilt closes in 2 weeks.
Full tit games stop as of 2mro. Below is final graph that was mostly 4 tabling the $50 level. Happy with my ev, will take a few days off just to study my ranges and return to stars again. Have about 500 games to play at 60s and hopefully should be playing 100s if i don't run too bad.

After a 5k sample of mostly 4 tabling.
Great thread! Following.
Are you still playing spins on ftp only? What are some of the major differences between ftp and stars when it comes to spins such as waiting time for a game, number of games/hour whilst 4 tabling, reg:rec ratio etc?
Cheers
Hey KK89.
Yeah im playing 100% on ftp until it closes. The games aren't as fast as stars to load up but you can still get decent volume multi tabling. Not sure about reg rec ratio but its a smaller player pool so you face a lot of the same regs and you can get a good understanding of how they are playing after a while especially if you take time to study their game of the table.
good work bud. hope u can catch that rungood or big multi to cover your EV-real$ difference. GLGL!!
Thanks Happy Harvest. That would be sweet.
I thought i would post my stats for 3 handed and hu
3 handed

Hu

60 chip ev per game hu is insanely high so happy with that, been doing lot of work on my 3 handed game vs different opening frequencies so hopefully translates into more ev there too.
Hey guys, little update since i last posted
How i ended up on full tilt $50 jackpots since they closed below
