I want to start by saying thank you for having such an informative and thorough website. HUSNG.com is solely responsible for getting me back into poker.
I played full ring cash games from 04-06 on absolute and partypoker with mild success never taking it that seriously but I did study a bit and read Super System etc. (so I thought I was good :) ) I stopped playing in 06 and aside from the odd session here and there haven’t really played cards. Last June I wanted to place a bet on Wimbledon and the easiest way was to use my old partypoker account. I ended up winning a small amount and decided to play some heads up sngs. After a couple of weeks of getting beat up I stumbled across this site and started my journey. I have been playing on 888 as Myles316 since July and have logged 5k hyper turbos. I started at the 5s then the 10s and currently play the 20s. I have an ROI of 4% (adjusted ROI 4.5%) so it is going alright but I feel I have some major leaks when it comes to ranges and the math side of hypers. My moderate success is the result of the free videos and information on this website.
I have watched all of the free hyper videos on here and the husng youtube channel, and have been lurking the forums but I think it is time to invest some money in resources/study aids to help me improve. I have read mers ebook and Colin Moshmans SNG and Heads Up books. I feel like I have a decent understanding of the hyper format and am okay at hand reading but I really get lost when it comes to the math side like how wide I should be calling guys that 3bet 40% at 25 bb or how wide I should be jamming over frequent min raisers etc. I guess a lot of the time for these spots, and I feel one of my biggest leaks is that I fold too much against aggressive opponents as I hate calling jams with mediocre holdings… Anyway, I’m hoping for some advice as to what I should do next to improve my overall hyper game. I’m willing to invest a couple hundred and am looking into the following
- Buying the premium membership - I’m mainly interested in hypers, are there lots in this subscription? I'm also looking for videos that show how to get full utility out of PT4 analysis. Would I be better off buying a video pack that is just for hypers? If so, which videopack is the best for someone that isn’t a complete beginner but still has tons to learn about the game? I have been looking at chadders but I really like pbogz style.
- Coffeehud - I have been using the coffeehud lite since I started playing 6 months ago and it has helped a lot. I feel there are some stats that are missing in the lite version that would be beneficial (cr frequency etc). Is it worth it to upgrade?
- Icimzer – is this worth it? Anyone have feedback on if this helped their game? Also are there videos on husng.com that explain how to get maximum value out of it?
Once again I want to say thanks to this community for making poker fun again. This site is fantastic and I’m excited to get involved!!

Coffecalcs way better than ICMizer...
Premium Membership should not be necessary, especially if you are new to the game. The regular pack should do just fine. Personally, I do not think that buying the regular or premium pack will do you any good, if you are not an established player (in any form of poker) yet. You will get so many input, but getting input about preflop play from coach A, advice about postflop play from coach B and advise for when to call a reraise from coach C is just way to confusing.
If you wish to learn the game, you should invest in a video pack and work your way trough it. You will get advice from the same person and the tinking process will make sense. Of course a private coaching package would be the best way to go (but this is very expensive and again...coaching sucks, if you do not know what questions to ask ^^)
Coffeehud is a very bad HUD if you do not know what information you need and *why*.
Icmizer is a great tool. But again; before you crack the numbers, you should know why your cracking them.
Hi.
Thanks for the response. I'm going to buy either pbogz pack or zzztilts. Any recommendations on which one is a better investment?
My pack of course :).
All kidding aside though, I like your passion and looks like your in the right direction. You can also check out my stream as well to pick up a few pointers with heads up http://www.twitch.tv/pbogz1114

Thanks man. Yeah, I'll be buying your pack in the next couple of days. I have watched most of your free videos and I like your style, when I get my roll up a couple more grand I'll be looking into getting some coaching.
Any advice on if I should try pokerstars? I have never played there as I have always heard the games are a lot tougher. I'm thinking about giving it a shot though as the rake is half of 888. Even if my winrate goes down a bit I might be better off. The rakeback and incentives on 888 are non existent, I log anywhere from 30-100 games a day playing $10-20 buy ins and I'm on 4% rakeback lol. Looking forward to the video pack!
I'm a bit partial to Black Chip for lower stakes players, there's enough action, the rewards and rake are solid and the cashouts are fast.
You're right, Stars is the toughest site, every other site is pretty "soft" in comparison. The main incentives to playing on Stars are down to good software and a large playerbase. Those aren't strengths to laugh at, but software has improved outside of Stars and traffic is more important as you climb up the stakes (most main sites have good enough low stakes traffic).
