The politician cited in the article says you can just vpn or off-shore to get around the law...

Yeah, that politician didn't help the cause by saying that.

What you need to do is...

  1. Get a VPN and make sure you don't get caught by Stars as they do check for it.
  2. Get an address in a Country you can play in and prove you live there and don't get caught by Stars.
  3. Make sure any money in and out of your account isn't suspicious(eg: Australian Bank Account) and don't get caught by Stars.

All too hard at the moment.
