He had 3-bet all 4 times I had raised on the button PF up until this point which is why I called with K9. We had never actually got to the flop in any of those 4 hands - I folded 3 and 4-bet one which he folded. This was our second game together, in the first game he was nowhere near as aggressive pre-flop and would fold to a lot of my raises.

A randomly hit 2 pair or an overpair beats me and a set or A9 crushes me. On the other hand, there is no draw on this board that I am not well ahead of and there are no flush draws and a player this aggressive could possibly be doing this with air or a weaker 9 especially with a flop that hits so little of the range I would call a 3-bet with. As I had already comittted almost half of my stack and felt that I was ahead enough of the time, I decided to call.

What is your view on this?

If he has 3bet you 4 times

If he has 3bet you 4 times in a row then I think your call with K9o is fine. As played I'd almost be fist pumping as I called his all in. If you aren't comfortable getting it in with top pair king kicker then you definitely don't want to be calling the 3bet preflop.
