Should him 3 barreling and shoving in a previous hand have any affect on my decision what so ever if I didn't see what he did it with?
River is a fold, I think you can even fold turn cause the board isn't changing and you will have some kicker problems when he holds a K. The only thing you beat here is a missed flush and a total bluff and 10x. Better king have you beat, 7x ave you beat, straight get there and other Kx is a split.
Though 7x rarely cbets flops in my experience (maniacs and really sick players seem to be the only ones that cbet bottom pairs regularly on wet boards), and while 98 got there, QJ is more likely than that (you hold an 8 and he probably plays both hands similar often) and there's also the J8, J9, Q9, Q8 type possibility hands here as well.Given that he's successfully pushed you away before, and with those additional legitimate bluff combinations available on the river, I might lean more towards a call.
The fact he is capable of 3b is definitely valuable information. We will get a chop some nonzero amount of the time here.. I like call as Ryan said, odds are just too sick but it's close.
