QUESTIONS

1) How long are you playing live mtts?

I have been playing live mtts for the past 2 years or so, but started taking them a bit more seriously this past year instead of just a vacation. I am playing a lot more tournaments both live and online so I am trying to find a balance with HUSNGs.

2) Tell me about your first ever major tournament: was it scary at least for a bit?

My first major live event was EPT Prague which I won an fpp satellite on stars. It was nerve wrecking to say the least, I didn't really know what to expect and how to adjust. I went deep in EPT grand final Madrid which i got 13th early on in my career, but even at the time I still didn't have a fundamental understanding of live poker, which I think I do now.

3) What is your upcomming schedule?

I have a lot on my upcoming schedule, I have been in Europe for the past month traveling the live circuit, starting in London and stopping in Amsterdam and Barcelona. I am currently in Berlin and plan on playing a lot of events here at the EPT that starts tomorrow. After this I will attend EPT Grand Final in Monaco, and then grind SCOOP in either Mexico or Canada. Right after that I plan to go to the WPT championship in Vegas and play some WSOP events including the one drop (100k buy in).

4)  HUSNGS is still your main income or you are becoming more live mtts reg?

My main income this year has been both live and online mtts, although I am still up a fair bit in husngs. The schedule has been hectic and it's hard to play hypers while traveling because finding a stable internet with a backup is tough at times. I plan to play a lot more husngs after the WSOP and still plan to achieve SNE for the 4th consecutive year.

I have had a fair amount of Online and live tournament success this year. (2013) Major online scores include 5th in the super Tuesday for 35k, 1st in the Sunday Mulligan for 29k, 1st in The BIG 109 for 24k, 2nd in The BIG 162 for 21k, as well as multiple ept satellite wins

Major live scores this year include 1st in the EPT Prague 1k hu for 20k euro, 3rd in the Fallsview poker classic 2500 event for 73k

5) Could you give comprehensive opinion on how good understanding of husngs helped you to achieve successes in mtts?

I feel like some of the best mtt players are current or former husng players. Husngs allow you to develop post flop strategy which is key in mid-late stages of mtts. A lot of mtt regs do not know how to play post flop, so having this skill set is a huge advantage and allows you to not rely on pre flop and all in situations. You can build your stack without showdown a lot of the times and are able to survive longer and put yourself in a position to win. The hardest adjustment is for husng players is developing hand ranges and slowing down. Husng players are used to being able to reload or click accept if they lose an all in, but in mtts you have to value your tournament life and limit mistakes with pot control strategies. All in situations tend to favor strong ranges, therefore a lot of husng players make mistakes thinking certain hands are the nuts. In general a lot of the same strategies work in both games so its definitively an advantage.

6) Why have you decided to play The One Drop?

I plan to play The One Drop for multiple reasons. First of all playing for charity is something no one can really argue against. I give some of my income to charity and this is another way to give back. I also think it will be a very soft feild with a lot of rich businessmen (also playing because of charity). There will be some good regs but I beleive recreational players will be at least half the field, just like in The One Drop one million dollar buy in this year. Since they made it 111k this year, I can afford to play and sell action to other regs in the husng and mtt community, so far i've had a lot of interest and dont think it will be a problem to sell.
