Woooot!!! Welcome Jared, this

Woooot!!! Welcome Jared, this is awesome! Ok I'll post first question:Tbh I don't have any personal question because you have (and continue to) answered them all for me already. So here is a general one:Heads up poker just requires so many more mental skills than most forms of poker in my opinion, it's one on one, the variance and results are just in your face so consistently and there are things such as rematch buttons, the inability to refuse action once you sit down and many directly different strategies needed to beat different players. I have had numerous players challenge and threaten me physically after I beat them or pissed them off or whatever. It obviously is just highlighting their own horrible mental game. So, how do players become aware that they are struggling mentally and need help improving in this way?

Hey Jared, what do you think

Hey Jared,

what do you think is the no1 cause for tilt among HU players? How to solve this issue and become better mentally?

Jared- what are the biggest areas for improvement that you see in players? Can you specifically name areas that poker players overlook? thanks!

Hey. Ive bhought your book

Hey.Ive bhought your book and read it. It helped me alot but still I have an issue that I dont feel comftarble with playing super turbos with even 100BI and 50BI is the recomended norm. At about 200-300BI I stop focusing on the money and can play my best game but Im loosing alot of value by playing so overrolled. How can I change this mindset?

What a fantastic resource for

What a fantastic resource for us, if anyone doesn't have his book, buy it now!My question is this: I started working on my mental game issues and then had my worst month ever. My theory is that by finally addressing things I hadn't dealt with for years, I opened up a can of worms. Perhaps it was too much at the one time, or perhaps dealing with these issues had a short term negative impact. The question is, have you come across this before, and does it sound like a reasonable explanation for what happened?CheersPaul

Hi Jared, I've bought your

Hi Jared,

I've bought your book and it helped me a ton. One mental issue that bothers me alot is : I try to stop playing after
winning several buyins but keep playing if I'm losing.
How can I find the underlying flaws of my mental issue such as this?

Quit while winning

Hi JaredI am new here, so my first post :-) I tend to quit a lot sessions while I am winning, BUT when I am loosing my sessions tend to be much longer? It's not that it affects my gameplay, it just trigger my grind gene. But I should probably do the right opposite or atleast also play kinda long session while I am winning?Do you have any advice?Best Regards

A very important question (somthing like vzhong's problem)

Hi Jared, As Paul (Cog Dis) suggested to me ,I read your book.I read it not only once but twice (even I read important part triple times). I find solutions very practical and I got gret results in short term , but my big problem is : I know what is the problem with my tilt, I know what I shouldn't do,I can force myself to prevent it for single day but those crazy mistakes happens again in next days, why?????I read your book and write a paper with my mistakes on in and review it before the games but still sometimes I don't follow them. The problem is if I become very very concentrated I play well but I cannot be 100% concentrated always , how can I improve myself to be always concentrated?Maybe someone says that the problem is there are points that I don't know and I have to learn those skills. What I want to answer is If there are something that I still don't know, why I run very good when I am concentrated?because of my good result when I am concentrated,I can be sure that even if there are some skills that I don't know yet,it cannot affect my result.it will be my pleasure if you can give me a hint about this issue. Again thanks Paul for your suggestion :-) 5adegh Update : from the date I sent this post till now I made a good run,I tried to keep myself concentrated , details about my story can be found here : http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/32/beginners-questions/should-i-go-my-story-1158336/

Jared, I'm having problems

Jared,I'm having problems leaving my work at work. I constantly find myself thinking about new ideas and strategies away from the desk, but doing so interferes with my personal relationships. What can I do to help create more focus on personal relationships and fun away from the desk?

Whats the difference between

Whats the difference between a winning player that stays on top of the game for the long run and the medioker winning player that quits after about 1year (What is one doing/understanding better then the other one, generally speking about mentallity)? Whats the top 3 most important things a player must understand/do to improve his game?

Relationship to physics

Hi, i read your book while being a total mental fish. Since im working on my mental muscle and underlying flaws, I improved a lot the last 6 months. My question is about the relation between the mental muscle and the physics in general.  I lost 75 Pounds the last 9 month (still 50 more as goal) and started making a bit sports.  Do you think that a mental muscle is more fragile while being physically in bad shape and accordingly is naturally stronger while being physically fit?  How do you think about that relationship?

Great questions so far

Hey everyone!I wanted to pop in real quick to say hi! First time on HUSNG.com, it's a great site, and psyched to be here answering your questions. This is the first time I've done a video Q&A and I'm real curious to see how it goes over. The questions are great so far - keep em coming. I'll come back on Monday or Tuesday next week and start answering them.Until then...keep your heads on straight, and if you can't figure out why.Jared

Hey Jared, since the release

Hey Jared, since the release of your book in your opinion and from feedback from people who've read it, what do you think could be added or needed more detail? I've read MGoP 3 times now and every single chapter improved my game/mindset. It's unreal to think that I played poker as my only souce of income for 6 years with all of these mental leaks and now things make so much more sense and for the first time in a long time I'm enjoying the game again and having my best results for years, so thanks!

Hey Jared.For start I wanted

Hey Jared. For start I wanted to thank you for your book. I have been playing poker for a living for almost 7 years and reading your book have been the biggest improvement in my game since learning starting hands back in 2005 ;) I have already bought a second copy for a friend. I have not finished the book yet as I am reading it slowly and I am making a notes (reminds me of University :P) and writing journal / mental HH /etc, but I am already sure it is the best book one poker player can own. Ok, enough sucking up ;) and to the point. The thing I struggle with and I am not sure about is playing against regulars (losing to them). In high stakes HUSNGs you often have to play against other regs (f.e. to battle for the lobby). It now never bothers me to lose against a fish as I see it as an investment (it actually makes me content, because after reading your book I TRUELY know this is a good thing when a fish wins). Unfortunately with other pros it is not really the case. Sometimes the edges in HUSNGs are so small that playing against other reg is unprofitable for both because of the rake and it is a kind of willpower / psyche toughness battle to force the other one to quit sitting the lobby. In those moments I feel variance is especially hurtful, because I know it is not a good thing when I lose (as it was with fish). The way I handle it is that I just try to shrug it off, don't care and accept it - battling for lobby (sometimes even unprofitable by itself) is also just part of the game, same as losing. But I still feel this unpleasant itch, when I lose to another reg, instead of the almost-pleasant feeling I get when I lose to a fish. I may have been repetative at points, but tried to be as clear as possible :)Cheers and thanks again for your work

Hey Jared, thanks for the

Hey Jared, thanks for the answer, it helps a lot. You were right - the uncertainty is the underlying issue. I found out that it is especially strong while battling regs with bizarre/uncommon play styles, when it is harder to figure out, who has the edge. It all fits in. Time to work on it :)BTW In the meantime I have finished the book and I am waiting for the expansion you talked about in Q&A12, no matter if it's gonna be book / ebook / films / whatever.Keep up the great workGrasiu
