Best format/videos to watch

Hey guys,

For the 7-15$ BI range, what would you suggest playing, hypers or turbo? main goal is to build a BR.

also what videos/video pack do you suggest?

I've got some experience in both turbos and hypers, but I've mainly been playing mtt's the last few months.

thanks!

I know this one is a bit

I know this one is a bit older but I wanted to give you a reply anyways.
For picking hyper and turbo, I like to focus on a few main things:
- Long term, hypers are better if you plan to really give this a push and try to move up. The reason is because action is far scarcer at the higher buyins for turbos compared to hypers.
- Your per game edge in turbos will be higher. Some people feel more comfortable because of this, similar to how some players like to play formats of poker where tighter play is rewarded (think, full ring versus heads up). However, in hypers, generally hourly rates for the top players are going to be higher. Why? Well, if you have a 2% edge in a $100 game ($2 per game) and it takes 3 minutes to play that game, you're making $40 per hour (20 games per hour at $2 per game). Maybe your edge is 5% in the turbos, and it takes you 10 minutes a game, so you'd be looking at $30 per hour there. Now, in that example, would you rather focus on how much you make per hour or per game? Personally, if I'm playing 30 hours a week, I'd rather make the $1200 than $900 (weekly 30 hour rates in my example).
My example is simplified though, as you can be multi tabling, there can be waits or waitlists, you could be far better at mid stack poker than short stack poker (or vice versa), you could enjoy one format more, etc.
- If you can't tell, I think on average the more profitable choice is hypers. This doesn't make it true for everyone. It might be more profitable to be a quarterback than a running back in the NFL, or a center than a defenseman in Hockey, but that doesn't mean a running back or defenseman can't earn more than a running back or center (happens all the time). It just means the best are usually going to make more in hypers than their turbo counterparts.
As far as video packs, if you want to go for turbos, Greenbast's pack is great for starting out. The Standard Pack is also good for starting out. The Premium Pack has a lot of turbo videos that should be able to help you as you into the mid stakes and higher levels. Don't neglect hyper videos either, as end game play is very important in your edge makeup as a turbo player.
For hyper turbo packs, we have a wide range of packs with different focal points. From full guides (Chadders Pack and zzz/phl Crushing Turbos Pack), to "large batch of videos" (Standard and Premium packs) to specialty packs (Coffeeyay covers improving, studying, software and essential math, HokieGreg covers population tendencies and adaptation, Sentin will cover beginner's and Hyper Turbo Masters is a recent pack from a group of authors), it really depends what you're looking for.
