Cbetting Bottom Pair

Primordial, in his Archive Video "01 - Heads Up SNG From Scratch Part 1 of 2" raises preflop on the button with 64o and the flop comes:Ad5c4h.He makes the following comment:"Bottom pair is a very good hand to cbet, because when he decides to call with a weak top pair or anything else (i.e. 88), you have cards to improve rather than two random cards there that can't really improve against an ace, but bottom pair you can have a lot of tricky trips or two pairs turn. So you're always cbetting both for protection and the fact that your hand can develop into a pretty good hand." Against a "typical" opponent, how often should you be betting bottom pair? On what board textures? In what situations is it best to check down for showdown value?
