Croix Vid 15

I just watched a video called croix_15 and I thought it was pretty bad.  I see now that this video is no longer on the site (there is now a video called croix_15_new).  Was this video poorly received?  Obiously Croix is 10 x the player I am - I'm not trying to start anything just wondering which video of his I should watch to get a proper opinion of his playing style and teaching abilities. MW

That's strange, we haven't

That's strange, we haven't replaced any Croixdawg videos in the last 8 months that I am aware of.  There's only one other person that would possibly have done that in theory, but it wouldn't have been done without some discussion or notification. As for the video quality, it looks like it was well received based on ratings and the single comment, my best guess is that there was more likely to be very specific reads and adjustments going on in that match because he was facing PrimordialAA, a player he's played with and talked strategy with for a long time.  That should obviously be explained in any video, but sometimes when facing such a strong caliber of opponent you'll forget to articulate so deeply about each and every decision, as your focus and creativity is really working harder than usual.

I could be confused here but

I could be confused here but the video labeled as croix_15_new is the one with PrimordialAA.  I haven't watched this one but it looks good.  The one I watched is labeled croix_15.  Because I can no longer find it on the site I can't see how well it was received. Not a big deal either way. MW

I figured it out.  Video 13 -

I figured it out.  Video 13 - when you download it - is labeled croix_15 for some reason.  I must still be crazy though because this video was decently reviewed.  I guess it comes down to different strokes for different folks. MW

Thanks for pointing this

Thanks for pointing this out.  It appears I meant to correct that file name over a year ago but never got around to it (our file editing system was a bit more complex back then I believe, or I was more ignorant than I am today). As for the video, it was a 4 star with 9 votes and survived two comments without a major strategy criticism from the tough to please Slatey.I'm not saying you are incorrect, the video is 16 months or so old and the site is always advancing as fast as the dozens of minds that go into the site advance, and that's often indirectly related to dozens of other pros and their progression.  So if you're a pretty successful player and particularly if you've learned a lot from other videos, if the video is truly weak I think it's a reflection of the advancement in good heads up strategy more than anything else.  Or Croix just had an off video (But with all the comments in there, it's rare a poor video is not called out on, we're not perfect and have had less than usual quality videos once in awhile and you can still see their comments on the videos today).

I still think the video is

I still think the video is terrible but I'm not an expert and could definitely be wrong.  Its probably more to do with teaching styles more than content.  I've definitely gotten great value from HUSNG.COM so don;t take my opinion too seriously. MW
