Deep Stack questions!

Hey people,I have a little question regarding Deepstack HUSNG on stars. Is 20 BB  bankroll enough?I started recently to be interested in them since I heard they are very low variance compared to other formats. I would prefer to play Super Turbo at fulltilt but I don't have the 100BB required to play them and playing at micro limits (2$) does not interest me. So I thought that playing deepstack for a while would allow me to build a proper bankroll without too much variance. What do you think about them? Are they profitable at low level? Why do you think this format is not as popular as the faster structure? More boring? Less hourly rate? What's the deal.So like I said, I don't plan to play them at the higher level but would play them untill I reach 20$ then move on. Good idea?ThanksMR

K-rab is basically our deep

K-rab is basically our deep stack expert here, but he's currently on a multi day road trip moving back to Chicago from Vegas, so he's likely not going to see this for a few days yet.I would say that 20bb is fine to start playing them.  Whether or not that will be enough buyins without having to move down depends on your skill and the variance you encounter.  But 20-30bb is probably enough to take a shot at them if you're a solid player with a big edge in slow structures, just be ready to move down if you lose 4-5 buyins, as 15 buyins is much too thin and your roll is really at risk once it gets to that point. In short, you're fine if you can move down, don't prolong it if you struggle and lose a few buyins.

Thanks for filling in ry

Thanks for filling in ry =)I'd estimate that 20 buyins is pretty safe as long as you're willing to move up and down appropriately. Personally I've been avoiding the $500s since I don't want to bust my FTP account, but have felt pretty comfortable with the $300s with somewhere between 20 and 30 buyins available. At the lower stakes you could probably get away with having even less assuming you implement a stop loss. The deepstacks are an awesome structure for achieving a high ROI and thus low variance, and I'd recommend toying around with the variance calculator if you're not too experienced with what swings are common/possiblehttp://www.husng.com/content/variance-calculatorAt the lowest stakes I think a very good player could attain some absurdly high ROIs; the best high stakes regs (with game selection of course) are able to get 15% so I'd imagine if you work on your game here you could do even better than that. As a result, you'll see less variance than any other structure, since no other husngs really offer such a high sustainable winrate. They might be boring to you at first if you're coming from super turbos but if you're interested in deep stack play they might offer your highest hourly rate. Not to mention if you can deal with the length of the games you might have your opponents bored when the game is taking too long and they'll probably start spewing or open shoving. I'm not familiar with how often the lobbies fill compared to the low stakes turbos or superturbos but I'd imagine there's enough traffic to always have a game going. Your average game will probably be around 20-25min so you could calculate your own expected hourly rate if it interests you, compared with the super turbos that take like 4 minutes and turbos that take maybe 7-8 minutes. I'm not sure if that covers everything but I'll keep an eye on this thread if you have any other questions!
