Faarcyde: Exploiting A Static Opponent In Hypers Part II

Available for your viewing pleasure is the second installment from Faarcyde's new series of videos that are all played against the same $35-$100 FullTilt reg, SivJensen. Faarcyde's purpose with this video series is to teach strategies and adjustments to exploit a static and transparent opponent. In this video, games 3 and 4 are reviewed, as Faarcyde continues to refine his understanding of his opponent's tendencies as well as developing and executing his plan, including how Faarcyde's opponent-specific adjustments in these games differ from the kind of decisions he would recommend in similar circumstances against higher-level opponents.

Hi, interesting video. 3:05

Hi,

interesting video.

3:05 are you making those leads vs good regs also?

7:40 You say you prefer limping>shoving>folding. Why arent you considering minraising? Especially if he is tightish from bb.

13:30  You plan to mr/call Q9s 13 bb vs 20ish 3bet jam percentage.  What where your reasons for that?

10:34 89o- Isn't it better to keep this hand in flatting range rather than 3b it nAI? Why did you decide to 3b nAI with it?

Thanks for the video and GL!

3:05 Yes, although I would

3:05 Yes, although I would weight my range toward value hands because regulars typically react aggressively to leads. So it would be more bet calling and bet 3b hands.

7:40 We have to call if he ships and that is sort of brutal with 92..

13:30 My statistics we're indicating that his 3b was increasing as we we're going along so I thought it was a profitable line even with him on the tighter side. Limping is also a very viable option.

10:34 Randomization really, with a high FV3B number I will throw those in there if I haven't attacked his minraises in a while.

why is his play with A5o bad

why is his play with A5o bad if he just call your mr with 25bb?

you say he should shove it pre, could you explain why?

I have to be raising north of

I have to be raising north of 80 percent against him @ 25 bb. Against that type of frequency you have to take high card hands that play poorly OOP and turn them into jams. The hand doesn't flop that well and he is going to be put in a lot of bad spots with 2nd/3rd/4th pair. Of course the obvious advantage is, from villain's perspective, a lot of people bomb off Axx flops but I don't think that has more value than shipping and capturing my MR a large % of the time.
