Facing a shove on a paired board. Regualar speed, micro stakes.

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players$1.38+$0.12 Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter BBassaraks1575  SBHero1425  Effective Stacks: 36bb Blinds 20/40 Pre-Flop (60, 2 players) Hero is SB Hero raises to 80, assaraks calls 40 Flop (160, 2 players) assaraks checks, Hero bets 120, assaraks goes all-in 1495, Hero?  There were two other occasions (that I know of) in the match where he hit on a paired board, one was when he had a 7 and the flop came 776, and he played it slowly on the turn just calling my c-bet and only getting aggro and betting big on the river (I also had a 7 so we split the pot).On another occasion he hit a 5 on a 5QQ board and he 3 bet me then shut down on the turn and river. I thought there was a much higher chance that he had a 10 here than an Ace, since I think there's a good chance he'd slow play an ace a bit more. But we were both pretty deep stacked at the time, and folding is much much lower variance, and the chance of me improving my hand is extremely slim if he does have an ace. Thoughts?

At the low stakes most

At the low stakes most opponents don't valuebet with their monsters, but try to trap. This and your reads make this an easy call imo

std call at whatever stakes

"and folding is much much lower variance" std call at whatever stakes, given reads and our hand. You can also take some AX out since he would have 3bet most of them preflop at t80. And sorry but giving away clear +EV spots, is actually, bigger variance

$Ev Adjusted in HEM

If you make a profit for the month (say $150  ) and $Ev adjusted in HEM shows loss (say $60 ).What does that really mean. Does it mean for instance that you are a long term looser.??Sorry I posted this in the wrong spot. Should be in new topic column.

Very true. Thanks for the comments, What happened was that I called, and he showed up with A4o. But fortunately I sucked out and hit one of my two outs. I'm going to try and remember it next time I'm sucked out on :).

It doesn't mean anything

It doesn't mean anything definitively over such a small sample (1 month, even for serious grinders), but it would indicate that your expectation for that month was not positive, yes.Adjusted EV is commonly accepted by good players to be a better indicator of your true edge than raw results at the tables.

This is definitely not an

This is definitely not an easy call for me. It all depends on gameflow and image of and read on your opponent.I dont like crstn's reasoning that "At the low stakes most opponents don't valuebet with their monsters, but try to trap."., thus call.i wouldn't make decisions to much based on general players tendencies, but instead really focus on players specifically. Is this player really that tilty that he's massively over-shoving the pot with a Tx hand? Or do you think he capable of overshoving here with combo-draw QJss or KJss? And/or you think JJ/QQ could also be in his range and he was trying to trap and now is like "fuck it, i'm either good or i'm not"?... If so you might definitely have a good call here. The thing is that there are als quite some players(types) that call with Ax hands and then decide to play straight up and overshove because they might find the board scary and dont wanna see any spade, j/q/k or some reasoning like that.I'd make a decision based on that and then choose to call or fold
