A few hands - Please advise.

Ok,

A few hands that I have played this week I would really like to get some feedback one of the coaches on here:

9th hand of $11 HU on stars - Villian appears to be LP - called a few raises OOP & then folded to C-Bet & he also checked down A5 on board A78 all hearts.

Hand 99 in Big Blind (90BB deep) Villian limps & I raise 4x - Villain shoves all in.

I would really like to know if calling with 99 here is +EV - Im guessing it really is borderline nearing towards -EV.

Turned out he had QQ & hit trips.

Same opponent 20 hands later & still blinds 10/20

Hand 1010 in Big Blind (25BB deep) Villian limps & I raise 4x - Villian shoves all in again.

Im guessing that 25BB deep here 1010 is a call but would the previous information about opponent cause this to be a possible fold?

Again he had the over pair with JJ & hit trips again :-(

This week I have come across the situation 4 times now, I have had a really strong hand - 99, 1010, JJ & AK when I have been in the Big Blind & have raised 4x during 1st level after limps & either been re-raised heavily or just shoved on, is this a common way for people to play really strong hands at the low levels - limp shoving or limp re-raising because I have ran into JJ, QQ, AA & AA.

Has anyone else had frequent experience of opponents who do this - I did not see this happen in any of the higher stakes videos on the site so im presuming its something that is seen more at the lower levels?

Many thanks

Dan

My 2 cents

I'm not one of the coaches, but since it's low stakes and a rather easy question I'll give my 2 cents.
First, yes, this is quite typical at the lower stakes, and it's actually done quite often by the "regulars" at the really low stakes.
Second, I'm guessing this is ordinary Stars structure and when you say 90BBs deep you mean that _you_ had 90 BBs and he, and therefore the effective stack is, 60 BBs. You have to win at least 56/120 = 46.67 % to break even cEV (if it actually were 90 BBs it's 86/180 = 47.78 %). Pokerstove some likely ranges to find out if 99 is a call or not. Eg:
Maniac range:
22+,A8s+,KTs+,ATo+,KJo+
Your equity: 55.283 %
Very loose range:
66+,ATs+,KJs+,AJo+,KQo
Your equity: 49.586 %
Loose range:
88+,AJs+,KQs,AJo+,KQo
Your equity: 45.560 %
Tight range:
TT+,AJs+,AQo+
Your equity: 38.200 %
IMO an easy fold unless you have good reason to suspect he's tilting or otherwise doing this move with crazy holdings (eg he's done this several times before, is a very tricky player etc.) considering you're 60 BBs deep. Also, even if he pushes wide enough for this to barely be a call, it may be better to wait for a better spot, especially considering you're still only at 10/20.
TT hand, same thing, you have to win 21/50 = 42 % of the hands, and pokerstoving the same ranges we get:
59.124 %
53.699 %
49.786 %
41.196 %
so you should only fold if you think he's very tight. I wouldn't be surprised to have villain turn over 33-99 here, and several decent players prefer to play low/medium pocket pairs this way (limp/shove) when you're 30- BBs deep, so imo TT is a easy fist pump snap call.
