FTP Account hacked

Hey Guys,I haven't posted on here before but have been an on/off member since last year. I started HU last year on FTP playing mainly the 4-man 10s and then moved up to the 20s this year but have not done so good until recently. Anyway, I havent played much over the last couple weeks and decided to have a couple games on Friday but could not log in as my password was apparently invalid. After requesting a new password via the login page I heard nothing for 24hrs at which point I was getting a bit stressed out. I had already checked Sharkscope and no games had been played, but when I checked Poker Table Ratings some a-hole had lost over $1100 (the entire account) at $3/6 NL on the 12th May... As soon as I mentioned this to FTP they were back to me in 5 mins and are now investigating it.Obv I don't play for a living so it's not a disaster but it has seriously affected my confidence in the sites and ofcourse pissed me off a lot... Anyway, I wanted to know what you guys do about security as I run Prevx CSI on my laptop (where I play 95% of the time) and the other PC I played on recently has AVG. Have any of you guys ever had issues like this, and what anti-viruses do you run?I also read threads on two plus two recently about livb112 and Jon Turner's girlfriend having their accounts hacked for loads of money so was curious what you guys who may have 10k plus in your accounts do about it?It seems like the bigger sites should start having more secure logins like banks do, like entering the 1st, 3rd and 6th digit of your password so the full password is never on the screen...?Be cool to hear any opinions on this... Adam

A Few Quick Tips

That's nasty, sorry to hear about it.I use a Mac so I'm not too up on anti-virus software but my security measures are pretty simple...

  • A solid password. Really solid. No dictionary words, mixture of upper and lower case, numbers and punctuation. Might seem like a nightmare at first but you'll have it memorised in no time (because you're obviously not gonna write it down anywhere).
  • Don't log-in from public shared computers, like in internet cafes or libraries. You have absolutely no idea what's going on on those machines.
  • Make sure your connection at home is secure. If you have a wi-fi network, make sure you're using WPA2 security with a solid password.
  • On the Full Tilt client log-in screen make sure you have unchecked the Remember Login and Password settings.
  • Check out the Iron Man store where you can use your medals to buy a security key or mobile phone app for 100 medals or less.
