i don´t know, but considering the fact that FTP is almost dead traffic wise (as i write that post, there is only one 20$ turbo table running), it´s not such a bad idea to cut down on the options. regular speed players will have to play turbo, so the player pool will be a little bigger.
"i don´t know, but considering the fact that FTP is almost dead traffic wise (as i write that post, there is only one 20$ turbo table running) "
LOOOOOOOOOOL bro, i see at least 400 games per day AT LEAST in 20$ regular speeds and deep stacks in FTP. But 35$, 60$, 115$ and above which also had traffic are ALL GONEEEEE.
Some guys make a living playing regular speeds and out from nowhere they ERASE them. I mean those lobbys were there since birth of FTP and from day to night are erased.
Yesterday 5k's turbo were also gone but someone might complained about it
dude i don't understand what u talking about, the matter is they erased regular speeds above 20$, the 3rd most played SNG all time behind hyper turbo and turbo.
let´s face it: regular speed effectively got erased by the players.
besides: i just gave you my opinion, why i think it´s a good idea to get rid of a format that lost popularity, especially on a site that doesn´t have such a huge traffic as PS. you don´t have to agree with me, but you don´t have to be a dick about it either.
- they erased regular speeds from day to night and did not say anything to players
i absolutely agree that this was not a cool move. i just said i can understand the considerations regarding keeping the format alive. i personally don´t mind regular speed being played.
it´d be interesting though what the site is saying about the decision (well, if they care to elaborate)
i sent them an email yesterday asking if the 20$ were no longer available and their answer was this:
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker.
Unfortunately these Sit & Gos are no longer available in our tournament lobby.
We are constantly looking to improve our players experience and the variety of games and tournaments that we offer and from time to time we may remove some of the tournaments also.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and if there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to let us know.

and of course i sent an email asking why:
Thanks for the response XXXX but there are some things I'd like to say about this:
- There were hundreds of players who make a living playing Regular Speeds and Deep Stacks above 20$.
- Since birth of Full Tilt Poker, Heads Up Regular Speed and Deep Stack Speed were always always there, so it's not a simple change that u make in the site by removing them, it's a Major one.
- And this wasn't previously debated or asked, if we players are the best interest to Full Tilt, why Full Tilt makes changes like this without previous warning? How would u feel if somebody took your job from day to night without previous warning? In the middle of a season of a football league they don't switch the games rules, from a football ball to a basketball ball.
-I don't know what's the point of erasing 20$+ tournaments regular speed and maintaining formats like "matrix" where nobody's ever there 24h, where the limits go up to 215$.
-Yesterday 5k husng turbo were missing also, but today they're on again, so changes were made.
-What gains full tilt by removing regular speeds above 20$ ? The players aren't just going to move up to turbo or hyper turbo games where they might have no edge, they even might search for another site to play on, think about it.
- Can FTP consider having at LEAST 20$ regular speeds and deep stacks? It's best for the game, players and site as well.
I mean, sister site (pokerstars) haven't ERASED regular speed husng above 20$, why would FTP shoot himself on the foot like that? This just SIMPLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
What other sites can players play? ipoker has deep stacks and regular speeds but traffic same as FTP. :S
It is not really a problem if players switch to Stars. The only reason that Start bought out FTP in the first place, was so that noone would buy the software and the existing player pool.
iPoker rarely is a competition for FTP and not at all for Start. At least in Turbo and Hyper-Turbo Heads-UP the traffic is rather low.
But I agree with you, that it makes no sense to remove normal speed over other formarts - unless of course, they want their players to switch to turbo/hyper-turbo instead, just as Dipl. told here before.
Sure, but they can't force people to do that, if it's their intention.
In 10 years if we all still playing poker and comes in fashion play a new game called HYPER HYPER with 10BB deep, are they gonna erase Hyper turbos as well just to force players do the transition?
I would not exclude this possibility. But it would be more likely that hyper hyper would replace turbos instead. However, they did not decide this over night and I am certain they have done the math.
The faster the game the more rake that FTP make. I expect some manager thought that this would be an easy way to hit some target by getting players to switch to turbos.
I've asked that question in the PokerStars Improvement Thread on 2p2 (in the heads up sng forum). Should have a reply in 4-5 days (it's answered weekly).
Stars said they knew nothing about it :S so i asked in the FTP improvement thread on 2p2 and this is the official response from FTP.
"The changes were made to the SNG offering as part of a general clean-up of the least popular SNGs. This was done mostly to minimize the clutter in the lobby and focus the choices players had to the most popular SNGs. If you feel like we removed something popular that should be brought back, let us know and we can take a look.
As Baard said, the two poker rooms are totally separate and our actions had nothing to do with anything at PokerStars."
If someone thinks FTP should replace the 20$+ regular speed and deep stacks lobbys go to FTP Improvement Thread and say something so they can bring the games back :) I already wrote mine there.
we have good newsssssssssssssssssssss, 20$, 35$ and 60$ lobbies are back! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D
"Hi JLT,
We've added back in regular speed and deep stack HU SNGs for the $20, $35, and $60 levels. Above that and there was barely any action in those formats, but we'll see how those three do and if they start improving over time we'll consider adding the $115s back as well.

lol yourself and learn to understand the written word.
one game at a time can of course yield 400 games a day, you genius.
compare that to 30 or 40 games at a time on PS at a comparable level and now do the math what that makes per day.
dude i don't understand what u talking about, the matter is they erased regular speeds above 20$, the 3rd most played SNG all time behind hyper turbo and turbo.
i know. and i think it´s not such a bad decision, because that most likely will increase the player pool at turbos and hypers.
sure, why not erase all games even turbos and increase player pool at hypers :D makes 0 SENSE
let´s face it: regular speed effectively got erased by the players.

the problem is:
-regular speeds lost popularity as poker lost popularity but still is MASSIVELY played 24h.
- they erased regular speeds from day to night and did not say anything to players
- still is source of income for thousands of players
i absolutely agree that this was not a cool move. i just said i can understand the considerations regarding keeping the format alive. i personally don´t mind regular speed being played.

Finally, someone tells FTP how important those games really are. The magic 8 ball, which they normally ask, probably only told them 'ask again later'.
What other site should players join?
Hi.
I mean, sister site (pokerstars) haven't ERASED regular speed husng above 20$, why would FTP shoot himself on the foot like that? This just SIMPLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

This is simply disgusting.

Hi.
Not so sure they did the math. Yesterday 5.000$ turbo disappeard as well along the regular speed. Today 5k's are back on. Strange why...
The faster the game the more rake that FTP make. I expect some manager thought that this would be an easy way to hit some target by getting players to switch to turbos.
While I don't necessarily agree with their decision, regular speed HUSNG are NOT the 3rd most popular SNG.
It's HUSNG Hyper, HUSNG Turbo/6 Max Hyper, and probably 2-3 more formats of 9-180 mans before you get to regular speed HUSNG.
Thank you for your follow up.
I can completely understand your point of view and I'm truly sorry to your are upset by this change.
I will forward this on to our poker room for their review.
Once again I apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you can find another favorite game on the client.
With that said, if I can help you with anything else, just ask. I'd be delighted to assist you.
As always XXXXX, thanks you for choosing Full Tilt.
