Heads Up vs. Calling Stations

Hello, I have read already a few things about HU SnG´s and I have played also a few matches.

I play on 888 Poker the $0,55 the most of my opponents just call and raise very very less.

I have lost 4 or 5 matches in a row I know thats not really much because in HU SnG´s there is a high variance.

My problem is that I dont know if I do everything right.

So, this are my opening ranges vs. unkown opponents (every player there is unkown because I havent play much HU matches)

65% opening raise range:

22+

A2s+, A2o+

K2s+, K2o+

Q2s+, Q4o+

J2s+ J6o+

T2s+, 94s+, 84s+, 74s+, 64s+, 54s+

T7o+, 97o+, 86o+, 76o+

40% out of position range:

44+

A2s+, A3o+

K2s+, K7o+

Q4s+

J7s+, T7s+, 97s+,87s

Q8o+, J8o+, T8o+

3-bet range:

99+

AJo+, ATs+

KQo+, KJs+

35% raise on a limp:

55+

A2s+, A4o+

K3s+, K8o+

Q5s+, Q9o+

J7s+, J9o+, T9o+

T7s+, 97s+, 87s+

I play this style:

Preflop: Minraise ( If he calls every hand then I change my bet size to 3 big blinds. )

Flop: Good c-bet board? If yes, I c-bet otherwise I check.

Turn: If I have nothing -> Check

River: If I have nothing -> Check

If I have hit something on flop then I bet 2/3 pot size and on turn 1/2 pot size. With a toppair I would check the river.

I dont know if this is a good strategy against callings stations in HU SnG´s.

The people on my limit are really bad ... They call with nearly every hand.

But is my opening range good vs. these calling stations?

Would be nice if someone could give me a few hints how to handle this.

I also play on 888

I also play on 888 sometimes.
I don't like a clear defined strategy, with pre determined hands to 3 bet etc. I know everyone has hands tht they will raise etc. yet you need to adjust to every player.
There's no point barreling someone who will call you down when you might not have the best hand.

Some tips from another beginner I guess:
1) Don't bluff
2) Re raise in position nd whever you hve it
3) Never slow play monsters
4) If min raise & 3 bet is getting called down every hand; see how they react when you limp and adjust accordingly
HUSNG can't really be a structured thing so to speak and crushing one player with a certain strat, might get you destroyed by another player.

Hope this helps?

One thing I don't see is that

One thing I don't see is that you're not 3 barrel bluffing.
I used to feel the same way as many do coming up, "can't bluff a calling station." But watching good players and discussing it with them, you start to see "oh, hey, that 3rd barrel bluff often works, whereas that 2 barrel bluff looks like suicide bc they call it off so often."
A lot of low stakes loose players (and just loose players in general) will only call one or two streets with a weak hands. So what happens when you mix it up and fire 3 barrel bluffs? They call 2 streets, build a big pot, then let you take the pot on the river. Consider mixing in some 3 barrel bluffs, you might really love your success rate.
This is obviously general advice, try not to think inside of a box though with your kind of defined pre determined strategy in the OP. Both with my advice above and your general play, you need to be adjusting on the fly rather than thinking about what set strategy you should have. If you're doing it right, you don't want to ever say "I play x style of poker" you want to just be someone who adapts to their opponents and is using very different strategies against the field.

Thx for your hints guys. I

Thx for your hints guys. I will try to mix some 3barrel bluffs in my game. And yes I know that there is no general strategy with which I can beat everything. But the thing is that 90% of my opponents play the same stupid style. xD
And yes in the push or fold phase I use a Nash chart.

Btw. pretty funny video of Daniel Negreanu playing a $10 HU SnG. It was really close for him. :D :D
