HEM versus PT3, is one better than the other for husngs? I currently use PT3, but have mainly played 6max on Stars. I noticed a lot of people refering to HEM on the forums and was wondering if it has surpassed PT3 in some way I was not aware of. Which do you guys use?
Well if you mainly play HUSNGs I guess both are fine. I switched from PT2 to HM years ago and have never used PT3 though. Since HUSNGs are more about specific reads I wouldn't think about the stats too much. Even PT2 would be fine for HUSNGs and some people play high stakes without even using a HUD.The refs to HM might be because it's widely spread amongst the community since many switched from PT2 to HM.
dont need to change.... numbers are numbersm ans tats are just stats ;D
I believe HEM has had some advantages in the depth of stats and luck adjusted EV, but the difference is not likely large.I know several heads up sng pros that use PT3 and are happy with it. There's a new PT version coming out in the fall or winter I believe, I think anybody that buys it now will receive a discount from PT when it's ready (maybe free upgrade even, I read about it in 2p2 NVG forum).I have HEM, but don't know much about it. A friend set it up for me and I only used it last year for short stack games (STs). It's all messed up on my PC now because I screwed with that postgres stuff, I couldn't even open it last I checked. In any case, either program should work fine, as the last two posters mentioned.
Thanks for all the responses...I am happy with my PT3, but I really like HEM's ability to use addon programs, such as Leakfinder, to help analyze stats. I have not looked at HEM's website for probably more than a year so I don't know what kind of programs they offer these days, but a husng leakfinder based addon would be awesome.
That would be awesome. If it weren't for BF I would say the market might be there for that add on, maybe. But who knows, there aren't a lot of applications or programs built for husngs. If anybody ever has any interest in it, feel free to contact me to help promote or work with it in any other way. The hole card blocker and variance calculator were basically donated and we've worked with the Awesome HUD creator to help get his product out there, happy to take a look if it's something good for the community.
Fromer SNG-Player (FR) here. I think the main reason why a lot of SNG (not HU tough!) player prefere HEM over PT3 is the function of HEM to filter stats according to the remaining total player in the SNG. This has been very usefull, since, as we all know, you do (or at least "should") not play the same on the bubble as you do in the very first hand. This kind of filtering has not been available by PT3...at least not when I switched to HEM a year ago.
Hi.
Does anyone know if EV is calculated the same way in HEM and in PT?
