How accurate is the following statement?

That HU hypers up to the $30 level will pretty much always be full of fish?Because of volume/talent/whatever, I don't think I'll ever be a high stakes reg, but for someone switching to hypers and wanting to make a few $$ a month (and be happy at these levels), is it still worth learning and for how long? Thanks

You can do the math yourself.

You can do the math yourself. A solid ROI for winning hypers reg is 3%. Now you just add there your stakes and volume number, and you will see how much could you earn. Ofcourse considering you get good at it and you put a decent volume.

that's the point - obviously

that's the point - obviously i can work out rois and go from there. What I am asking is the profitability - long term - at those stakes in particular. Or is everyone going to buy this video series and make the games harder.

hypers 60 and below will

hypers 60 and below will always be full of fish? why? because it's the closest thing you can get to a coinflip in online poker :)so yes, it is worth learning heads up to an extent, and it can only make you a better player in the long run. On top of that every tournament finishes with a heads up game, where the biggest money jump is, so having a good heads up game really make the diff to your subest of results where you have already made it to heads up in a tournament. There is always the concern that unless you commit all your time to particular poker variant you will be jack of all trades master of none, but this is simply not true, especially when the variants you are talking about is a subset of the game you play (for example any single table sng pro who doesn't pay attention to is heads up game is just chucking away $ for the reasons i mentioned above).

True, playing hypers has

True, playing hypers has improved my endgame tremendously. I simply crush ppl in sngs and MTTs when we are HU, or down to 3-4 ppl, because they are just terrible HU.Ofcourse games will get slightly tougher, if bunch of people learns to play hypers from hypers video pack, or endgame videos etc. But thats great, because then you can actually exploit ppl watching those vids (if stuff from vids becomes a general population tendency and you manage to spot that).

volume and whatever

volume and whatever constitutes "talent" are SKILLS, not natural traits of certain people. you can develop these skills.buy Jared Tendler's the Mental Game of PokerGood Luck

The long term profitability

The long term profitability of low stakes husngs and husngs in general as mostly to do with the attraction of players to the game, something that is very much controlled by the poker rooms (we're trying to make strides there too, if we can grow the game ourselves, that's good for this site and winning players in general, so that's worthwhile to us... the free ebook is a step in that direction).Rake is another important factor. You can easily see this demonstrated by adding up the rake paid by groups of players (maybe using SS, total profit leaderboards for example) and realize that a rake rate being lowered could have a pretty drastic impact on adding more money back into the games.I honestly think that the best thing that could happen would be for other poker rooms to get their act together and offer a structure competitive with PokerStars. It's not that I don't love PokerStars, it's quite the opposite in fact, but I can't help but think that the rake would be lower if we had a few PokerStars type sites out there instead of one.Just an example is that the 2nd and 3rd largest sites, Party Poker and Ipoker, have huge flaws in their design. We've tried to work with Ipoker to fix some of the problems that they have over there, we heard back things like "great, we'll implement these changes in the next few days" but that was months ago and after awhile we stopped hearing back specific feedback. Party Poker we'll work on as well, though last time I asked the community the Party Regs seemed to think that it was in their best interests to have the low stakes games raked at 10%. So that might be another hurdle to overcome in the campaign for better and more fairly raked heads up sng structures.

Why would it be in communitys

Why would it be in communitys interest to have rake on those games 10%? And are you reffering to HUSNGs or tables there in general?
