Just wondering what sort of volume the pros/semi pros on here put in on a daily or weekly basis. How many hours are you playing or how many games are you trying to get in?
I think that this really depends on what your goals are. The amount of money you make is going to be a function of the amount of volume you put in, so even if you are making a lot of money with low volume you will still probably be capable of making more money with higher volume. I try to use poker as a filler when I don't have anything else going on (this way I'm always doing something productive and never just sitting around bored). I'm not sure how many hours this works out to, but I think that it is a good approach for using my time efficiently.
Great reply xSCWx thanks. I'm of the same mind. I still want to be putting in some volume but am not the type of person that can put in 8,10,12 hours every day without getting burnt out. Its a double edged sword. I want poker to be my main source of income but I still want some sort of a life and balance which is kinda hard when you are not playing bigger stakes.
I've placed the television so I can easily see it from my computer screens, so when i'm watching television I always play. I try to put in atleast 8 hours a day every day, or between 30 and 100 games depending on how many tables i'm playing. HU I never play more than 2 tables at a time, but with 6 or 9 man I sometimes play up to 10 tables.
Well it doesn't improve my poker watching tv at same time as im playing, but i don't think it hurts my game very much either and say for example it did hurt my ROI by 1-2% I still make more money by watching TV since I wouldn't be bothered to play as much as I do otherwise if I couldn't do other things while playing poker.

I can't imagine watching TV whilst playing would be good for your winrate. Especially heads up.
