How to play ace-rag late against decent player?

Hi,Member for 2 months decent reg winner at 10% at 55s on short about me.Sory for my not so perfect english:)Find some new stuff on this site but couldn,t find correct strategy for such a case.At late faze I got many times dominated with my ace-rag crap.I,m talking about 10-25bb deep situations. When for example I raise and got reriased(I,m thinking about limping and min raising more at this late faze and  then make decisions according to my reads on his range).Or when decent player button raises me I always have tough time should i raise him or fold according to his range. The thing is when the money goes in I,m usually dominated by a better ace or pair higher then my rag. I,m looking for some general advice for such a situations.Thx in advance.

It all depends on stack

It all depends on stack sizes, the player, and the amount that he is opening to. If I have 12bbs and he has been opening 80% of pots to 3x then of course im going to jam Ax, but if he is opening only 20%, effective stacks are 20bbs, and he min raises then I might just fold or flat depending on if you think you can play well post flop against him. The same applies to getting jammed or reraised after opening. Say you open with 14bbs and he jams and has been really active then calling is okay. But if you have 18bbs and he has been really passive then folding is okay.

Most players at the higher

Most players at the higher levels tend to shove enough random junk (Q7s, 78s, 54s) against me to where I'm rarely folding Ax under 20bbs.  I shouldn't say rarely, but it's somewhat uncommon. At the lower stakes you see a lot of loose shovers as well, but you'll also find some guys that are extremely tight and only 3bet strong hands here.  If the guy isn't 3betting, you can fold A2 to a shove, but make sure you're exploiting that player's tendencies.  Minraising every button is a great way to exploit somebody that folds a decent amount OOP and rarely 3bets, they are basically automatically losing money against you, provided they aren't somehow great postflop and you are not good (unlikely as it's pretty easy to see why folding half your BBs and never 3betting is a strategy easily exploited by a 100% button raiser). But the example above should show how many things can be related here in the end game.  If there's some extreme tendency one way, there's another way to adjust and exploit that.As far as BB play goes, when in doubt just stick it in 20bb or less with any ace.  At worst it's slightly wrong, at best it's easily the best decision.  That said, against tighter open raisers I might flat call some of my Ax hands and against very loose 3bet callers I'll value 3bet up to any Ax hand honestly.  Once in awhile you get crazy guys on tilt that will just 4bet shove with horrible hands like suited connectors, and that's a pretty easy "wide value 3bet range" adjustment to call the 4bet shoves.
