How to tell if your running bad or good, EV bb doesn't tell the true story?

So I've recently decided to give HU Hypers a try (coming from cash) . My question is this. How do you know if your playing well but running bad or playing poorly but running hot? Yes you can look at your ev bb but that won't tell the true story will it? For example I could get it all in pre my frst hand with AQs vs KK and lose and have my ev bb/100 look bad even when it was clearly the correct play. Or I could get in A9 vs AT with an 8 bb stack and be crushed looking at my ev line but it would clearly be the correct play. Any ideas?

Getting a sample should solve

Getting a sample should solve that. There are some tables that show with how much certainty you can assume your winrate is your accual winrate over x amound of games.

There would be times that

There would be times that your opponents will hold dominated holding or worst pocket pair and do the right play as well.It happens a lot on hypers. u could get coolers or heaters all day or even all week.  thats why they are so swingy.

You need to analyse your game

You need to analyse your game on a regular basic and do lots of session-aftermath.

The EV line just helps us get

The EV line just helps us get to the long run faster as it shows our results with one of the many factors of variance removed (All in EV). The only way to get a true winrate is to get a decent sample so we can be sure card distribution isn;t affecting our results. Like I said, we need a sample, but the AIEV line means we need a smaller sample to get a true winrate.

Get a pro to review your game

Get a pro to review your game is the best way. Since you're new, you will have some obvious leaks and they will point them out for you.
