HU SNG, beginner questions.

Hi,I am a 9 Man SNG (non turbo blinds) regular player, I started at $1 level and I am right now playing the $3. I have been building my bankroll, started with about $100 and right now I have a bankroll of $550.I know that I have more edge at the 9 man SNG's but I always liked to play HU SNG's. I played some HU this year but I think is tough, because I have to win 2 in 3 games on average to have a positive ROI.According to my bankroll, what buy in level, should I start to play in order to practice? Are they really profitable at long term? I mean, on 9 man SNG I may lose 3, 4 games but one 1st place puts me at positive ROI again.I have some concepts about the strategy like position is the key, agression with position is fundamental, testing your opponent to check if he is tight or LAG and sometimes is better to min raise that to 3 bet when you have air.Do they have higher variance than 9 man sng? Is it volume the key here (like any sng grind)? Are the 4 man HU sng more profitable? (the one you play HU with 2 players, there are a total of 4 players and the 1st place receives the prize).Thank you guys for the support!Luís.

Your variance will be smaller

Your variance will be smaller in HU SNG's than 9 man sng's, as for the 4man HU question I'm sure someone can answer it because I'm not sure about that one. If you have watched some videos on here and have some experience you could start at the $10 HU SNG's or if that's too big for your comfort level you can start lower, but as you are new I wouldn't advise going any higher at first until you see how you do.

Thanks Newff, I think I will

Thanks Newff, I think I will start even lower, probably at the $5 non turbo level.I did not know it that HU had a smaller (negative) variance from the 9 man.Regards.

Luis,   You couldn't have

Luis, You couldn't have been chosen a better time than now to ask these questions. I just finished writing a HUSNG.com Beginners Guide which RyPac will be posting and sticky'ng shortly. Be sure to check it out, I'm sure it will probably be in the Video Discussion forum.

Don't believe this guy

Don't believe this guy anything. He's a liar, a losing player and just full of himself. I played yesterday against him for 5$ and among many other things he wrote to me:MuLiTiAx said, "90k in last 2 years"MuLiTiAx said, "easy game"MuLiTiAx said, "you can follow my stats on 2+2 or husng.com" Of course I couldn't check him on Sharkscope because he blocked his results. But I know for some other site which is collecting data as well and not just that he didn't make 20k, he's even a losing player, lol. :D I don't know what are his plans here at husng.com or why is he even writing "a guide for beginners", but I wouldn't follow his advices.

Alive4r   lol you can't lose

Alive4r lol you can't lose with dignity? you believed all that stuff in the chat? tilt formula obv, got you to shove K6o 30bbs deep when you kept battering me in chat saying how horrible i was. Either way, no need to flame here as it's childish and really has no point? Lets move on with our lives and take our losses like champs instead of hunting down villains on websites just to insult them.
