I don't know what I Should call this ???

Hence I post it to ask if you can help me...

I found this in my HH and was just like ' Oh wow' what are you doing here ?

Thankfully I gave up on the river, but should I have even called 3bet on the turn ?

Jamming over the 3bet would be total suicide, right ?

Was first hand of the match against unknown. I have learnt ( painfully ) that I should be a bit more hesitent on the first hand of the match with Air against a new opponant as I have not yet constructed my percieved image/range for me to manipulate, but still I find myself in this spot somehow.

Basicaly I think this is not the best play, but I could do with some help explaining why ?

Thanks,

TC.

First hands readless i think

First hands readless i think we can raise/fold it preflop, on the flop i would bet 30-35 pretty dry in my opinion and i really think most villain doesnot have lot of Ax there if none..on the pair we pickup a pair and have our gutshot now that is calling the flop bet i think we can check behind a) because we have a little bit of showdown value b) To avoid a check-raise and have to fold down sometimes to best hands then on the river if villain decide to bet there since we are at the beginning of the match i try to not hero call or something and give him a little bit of credit to either bet a 6x-8x there or miss draws and move on the next hands.
P.S On differents flop board you can consider to check-back the flop with some marginal equity like 1 overcards and gutshot to have a check-raise and most of the times have to fold, but this flop is too good to not cbet there since flatting ranges of villain (if we think about the population tendencies) tend to not have many Ax there and most of the time 6x or draws.

Hey ImGen1us, Thanks for your

Hey ImGen1us,
Thanks for your answer, yes I think your right to suggest checking back with small showdown value. Have kind of lost my pot control mindset I think and am much more aggressive these days, contesting every pot/chip/bet sometimes to my own detriment.
Although I think Im in control of my actions spots like these alarm me when I see a play where I should A. Consider giving up. B. Think before I proceed,  what will my actions/villans action be on further streets. or C. As you say 'Give then more credit for 6x or 8x.
But I dont give credit lightly, even in the first hand of the match. Which I think is a bit of a leak.

Thanks for your help.
