Charles Hawk: Did you have any specific goals for 2015? If yes, what were they? Are you happy with your performance so far?
adamc1988: My goals changed a lot from the start of the year to mid way through the year, but I guess the consistent goal was to move up the stakes. I started the year as a 300s reg so to have been accepted into $1ks by September, I would have certainly took that in January. Overall I would say I was satisfied with my performance so far, but it's certainly not the time for pats on the back as the work never stops and there are still plenty of areas I want to improve on.
Charles Hawk: How many VPPs have you earned this year? Are you chasing any milestone yet? Are you planning to grind alot next month?
adamc1988: I have about 1.3m VPPs, I'll comfortably get 1.5m and don't have any goals to push for any more. I'll be grinding a similar amount to usual for the rest of the year.
Charles Hawk: What are you predictions for 2016 a) for online poker (especially for husngs and spins) and b) rakeback at pokerstars? Do you think amaya could reduce rewards or change whole VIP club system?
adamc1988: I think HUSNGs will continue to see a decrease in traffic, as Pokerstars keep their promotional focus on Spins. I'm sure Spins will continue to increase in popularity as Pokerstars come up with more creative ways to market them. I expect big changes to be made with the current rake back system, I have doubts whether SNE will even remain next year as they move towards this VIP Steps Program which is currently being tested on UK players and set to take affect for everyone in January. We will have to wait and see what the final changes are.
Charles Hawk: Do you think Amaya would introduce higher buy-ins for Spin ad Goes in 2016? If yes, will $500+ regs have enough edge on recent spin $100 regs who are putting big effort and lots of hours for coaching? Does it make any sense for $500+ regs to be learning Spins now for the future possibility of "higher buy-ins introduced"?
adamc1988: I'm sure there's every chance of $200 spins being introduced at some point in 2016, which could encourage more $500 regs to switch formats but I don’t think many $1k regs will be too interested just yet. Obviously it's something the high stakes guys will be keeping an eye on, and if hyper action drys up further or if Spin players hourlys become higher than that of $500+ regs then it could be time to consider switching. I think anyone transitioning from hypers to Spins would be starting out a decent way behind the current Spins players, but I'd be confident I could catch up pretty quickly with the right approach.
Charles Hawk: Have you tried grinding Spins to get the idea of this variation? What are your thoughts of it (comparing it with husngs)? Do you see yourself grinding Spins as your main game?
adamc1988: I've played only 5 spins life time so see what all the fuss was about, so I'm not really in a position to compare spins with HUSNGs. I'm sure I'd find them a lot of fun if I did them as my main game, but I don't see that happening in the not too distant future. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on them though, and if Stars continue to add higher buy-ins it could get interesting!
