Hi,
I am reaching out in the hope to find 2 professional poker players; one living in Belgium, one living in Netherlands who:
1) do not have a daytime part-time job
2) do not have a daytime full-time job
3) are no longer a student and studying
4) are playing poker as sole source of income.
5) report all winnings and pay taxes.
Goal is that you provide me with a written out explanation how much taxes (%) you pay and how exactly you report this (ie after which codes you record your winnings at the Belgium tax letter).
And your expectations about future changes to the tax-% (including source (ie accountant) of information).
If you make use of an accountant to report taxes, please add name and contact data.
If you are ie an Belgium player who moved to the Netherlands because of tax-%, inclusion of moving-issues is greatly appreciated.
I reach out this way because the 3 Belgium tax accountants I consulted were clueless during the introductionary conversation about this and because a firm from the Netherlands (capable in doing this) requested 1500€.
Goal is gathering information and of course I would appreciate the correctness of the information but I will never come back to point out if it is not.
I am prepared to pay up to 100€ for a written out report (as I guess it will take max 0.5 a 1h) to each professional player as an incentive if a free reply is not acceptable.
Please reply if interested.
Thank you.
Okay so, i'm not your ideal guy i guess since i study, but i can clear up some things about the Netherlands. If you make money playing poker, you have to download the 'online kansspelbelasting' form on the website www.belastingdienst.nl. You fill this out on a monthly base, and you also pay on a monthly base. When you send the form, you do not have to wait for any confirmation, but you just send the money to their bankaccount (29% of your winnings) and again you do not receive any confirmation unless something is wrong (very annoying, i know). When you have losing month you pay 0, but if you have winning month after you just pay 29% of these winnings. I dont know how you say it in English, so assuming you speak Dutch, je mag de winnende en verliezende maanden niet met elkaar verrekenen. However, be aware of the following things. I started paying tax when i just turned 18 (thought gambling was illegal when you are 16/17, what did i know..). After i received forms about earnings of earlier years where i still had to pay tax over. Also, once you send the tax form once, you will automatically receive the form at your home adress for the following month for years. If you dont fill them out and send them to Belastingdienst within a month, you receive a €61 fine lol.
Hi,
thank you for this clarification. This is already helpful.
Although some items are already cleared out, my both offers are still standing. Especially if you are a Belgium player who moved to Netherlands and want to give feedback about moving issues (if any).
