Hi,
Ive just gone back into the habit of shoving all low pocket pairs throughout my Hyper Turbo match, where as I had a few profitable ( profitable as in I felt my play was solid ) sessions where I min raised them, looking to hit trips every now and then and happy when I did. I suppose I was feeling confident and not in a rush to make small gains, something changed and Im not sure why ?
I think it was because I checked low pocket pairs against hands like AK, KQ, QJ, JT and found that this range didnt hold up as strong as I expected against low pocket pairs.
I realize calculations are not taking into aspect game flow and reads on your opponant....
I think also around the same time I gave up on my limping range after just experimenting, again profitabley with that. Is it a weakness to play aggrsivley always min raising 85% ? Some natural part of my personality feels more comfortable with that aggresive approach, although the inteligent part realises that its just a bit brutal and caveman like.
There must be a word for it, some thing like 'elegance' in the way you play your game...
Maybe I should go back to min raising ?
Just some thoughts...
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
.
it depends with small pocket pairs as always. if i have a complete nit as an opponent, i don´t want to shove 33, because i would hate it if he woke up with a better PP and lose my edge against him in just one hand. against a hardcore nit, you´ll be more profitable minraising 100% of your range and taking the pot down with a cbet. against a loose opponent, who will call a shove 20bb deep with sth like QTo, i would shove small PP any day of the week. readless i would shove small PP at any depth in a hyper turbo cheerss.
I think a weekend of study is coming up... thanks for the advice and help,GL.
Go forth and CRUSH !
It's all a question of equity. Sometimes your equity might be better when you min-raise. Sometimes your equity might be best if you shove. Not of importance for this thread, but just in case you ever open up a thread in the hand evaluation forum: hitting trips and hitting a set is not the same. For trips you use one of your hole cards and for a set you hold a PP.
