Mental Block Moving up limits

Hey Guys,This is my 1st week here at HUSNG and have to say the membership has already paid for itself, I've learnt something from all the coaches and their insightful commentary. Currently I'm crushing the $10 games on stars my bankroll a little above $550 but I can't bring myself to move up, I feel a mental block. Do you guys ever experience this whilst moving up, if so what's the inner game to pass this? Any thoughts or advice wold be much appreciated.

Heh, I'm a nit too...pretty

Heh, I'm a nit too...pretty overrolled for my limit, just like you.Slowly getting over it though. The trick is to split up your roll, in your case I'd do something like this:1) 30BI @$10 = $300 (30BI for the $10 stakes is more than enough!!)2) $550 - $300 = $200 => Take a shot at the $23s until you lose that $200, or hopefully, make enough to move up. Grind until you hit your new desired bankroll for the $23s (eg 30BI = $600). After that, rinse and repeat for the next stake.Just decide what you want as a reserve for your "old" stake level. Maybe you're happy with 20BI at the $10s, maybe you want 35BI. But use anything above that as your "shot taking" bankroll. it's pretty hard to go busto that way, as long as you always move down if you fall bellow the set limit.

I lke to take shots. I played

I lke to take shots. I played $10 for a while and I still play them depending on bank roll, but by taking shots you realize that the competition at the $23 is pretty much the same and you can make a profit. By playng a few games every once n a while at a higher limit you get used to it.

I'm such a nit lol. I moved

I'm such a nit lol. I moved up to 10s when I hit $440 and just moved up to the 20s at $1050. I'm pretty sure I could beat the 30s right now but want to keep my risk of going bust as close to zero as possible. This also allows me to play a decent sample of games to ensure that I'm in fact a winning player.

I seems that the competition

I seems that the competition from the 10-30 dollar games is generally the same especially if you game select. I have moved up very aggressivley by taking a 5BI shot once I hit 20 BI for the next level. Im currently taking a  shot at the 55 dollar games and crushing, but the only reason im crushing is because I am only playing people with -20% rois and down :). Once ive got a better roll then i start to actually play the regs and try to get better at the specific level. This also makes for a much better hourly than just playing everybody at a lower level.

People feel uncomfortable

People feel uncomfortable moving up mostly because they have ideas about committing too big of a chunk of their roll to it.  The trick though is to take whatever you're comfortable with and go with that.  Take a few buy ins and set it aside and if you lose that well you'll do it again later when you improve and increase your roll a bit.  If you do this you should make up for the loss plus an increase at the lower level, you don't want to just spin your wheels here, that will also ensure you have more experience in general when it's time to take another shot.  Even a single buyin shot is fine if you're real conservative.  The line I use here is that moving up isn't getting married it's more like a date and if the date goes well, it might lead to more but I think too many players think moving up is more of a committment than it actually is :)
