Anyone use it a lot for them? Was wondering how much bandwidth/capacity I would need if I was going to have to play more or less exclusively on it? Any idea about whose plan is the best? Not just for a backup but, as a main connection.

I had one with a 10GB "soft" limit (means it didn't hit as fast of speeds when it got to 10GB) through Crickett. The cap wasn't that noticeable to me, I didn't even realize it was there for a month or two. I played poker and used a browser a lot. Take our average MB a month of videos and I downloaded and uploaded that. Otherwise, no other downloads or uploads, no internet radio.I tell you this because I think it was one of the slower broadband cards, but at $40/mo it was a solid primary internet connection for me (new place didn't have internet ready yet) and later backup internet connection. Things were slower than cable, definitely, but it was far better than a phone or the old dialups were, it wasn't ove frustratingly slow.I've also used the Sprint one and ATT broadband cards before. I had to take back my Sprint card b.c it wouldn't work in my urban area house at the time, but I'm convinced it was just bad variance. It worked well in other locations. ATT worked great, I was happy when using it (borrowed from a friend a few times). So, in short, they work fine. Try to find an unlimited plan or a soft cap, so you don't have to track/worry about your usage so much.
Unlimited plans and soft caps are pretty much the past. We are taxing more data and the companies have pretty much shut down unlimited use of data.
