Non-shove 3betting

Hi guys,

I am new to the Hypers and watched some videos and people (coffeeyay) are light 3betting in the first lvl with esp. J4s

Example: Villain openraises to t40 and we 3bet to t100.

Villain just needs ~23% for a correct call. So even if he gives us a very tight range like 99+,AJs+,KQs,AKo he has to call with 83% of all cards. Thats more than most Villains openraise => we have zero foldequity and are OOP on the flop. Can anyone explain me why this is still profitable vs. unknows?

becouse first they dont know

becouse first they dont know anything about when and why it is correct to call or not and you def get more folds than what u expect. Second you get some more folds postflop (again way more than youd prolly expect) and as you do it with mostly suited hands you have a chance to semibluff and sometimes realize even more equity.  Coffeeyay explains that in his videos for sure, you prolly only missed the explanation somewhere.

He has to call 60 and there

He has to call 60 and there is 140 in the pot => He needs 60 / (140 + 60 ) = 30% equity.  But if he were to call almost any two, it would be really hard for him to realise his equity with the bottom of his range as it is hard for example to face multiple barrels with bottom pair, or bluff-raise with almost no chances to draw out to a better hand.
