how u guys adapt when u run pretty bad with the first 10 hands, 3x preflop does nothing on your opponent, and limpin either, reraise does nothing to..bluffing is not an option (but maybe it could but it ll cost the whole stack))... and also the guy seems to hit a lot. so he feels he is gettin over you. and for my part limpin isn't a good strategy nomore. how do u guys deal with this
u start playin the hit to win?
i think this has more to do with metagame than hands value ... and how u guys counter this pressure the guy put on u.
I think you need to describe the scenario a little better to get a clear answer. I don't understand what you mean by everything doing nothing to your opponent. Is he just calling you with everything or what?
I don't think that running bad in the first 10 hands is uncommon at all, I would just continue to play my A-game and make whatever adaptions to my opponent I felt were necessary. If he seems to be loose/passive then I would start limping my weaker hands and only bet or raise for value.
Even if you're first 10 hands are total garbage (like 92o), and you fold every button and BB (which imo would be incorrect), you'll only be down 300 chips...so you have enough to make a comeback. Blinds are still small, so don't grow impatient and spazz out.
If "nothing you do is working", you just haven't figured out a proper counter strategy. Is he calling too much? Valuebet lighter and tighten up your PF range. Is he folding too much? Increase your opening and cbet range. How does he react to 2 barrels? How does he react to limps? How does he react to donkbets?
The first few hands are the cheapest way of finding out about his tendencies, and your cards don't matter all that much imo.
I also don't see why you think limping isn't working. It's a great style if you're good post flop because you'll get to see a ton of flops for cheap.
