when playing a standard unknown player in a HU hyper. we raise and he flats and we see for example 7c7sKh i cbet and he calls, on this board with no flush draw as its so dry when he calls should i just give up on the turn? as there are no real good barrel cards except maybe and Ace or another K, are people floating these boards enough to make it not profitable to bet the turn?
a similar situation is with a paired board but with a lower high card E.G 6c6hTd.... rainbow board if i get a call i can barrel any picture as im getting called by a lot of gutshots. even if flatted with a T any over can be bet and bet the river depending on the card
when cbetting a paired board that has a flush draw 7c7hKh when i cbet and he calls should i be betting all turns as he may just be calling with a flush draw or like the top example should i just give up as it is still relativley dry flop?
if you could help out id really greatful
First it seems that we are probably the only two fish here who dont know exact answer to this type of question or no one realy feels competent to answer it So I will do the fish my self and try to come up at least with something so that someone really good could comment on it. Warning: may be TLDR kind of post.
I think to get somewhat good answer to this you need to know population tendencies. This will be different on every bi. Than you know what "standard uknown player" will do most of the time . And whats more, it will depend on stacksize couse you will get flated by Ax hands some of the time, when its too deep to shove low Ax hands readless, which means that first hand you will get floated by Ax hands also. I am not going to tell that you cant bet an A against unknowns, but in certains situations you cant take away A high hands from their floating range. As the stacks get shorter even fish tend to 3bet Ax hands most of the time.
K77r -would be the toughest one for me as I think fish on my level tend to float with some high card type hands (A,Q,J) they think could be good here. So the problem is if I barrel any face card in this example I am not really sure if I dont get myself in to trouble. I would bet a face card turn and probably give up river with air or showdown value. I have seen some really weird floats that one would never expect in hypers with hands like small pocket pairs in this example also.
66T- here I agree that you will get floated by a lot of hands. Again overcards, gutshots and stuff. Here I asume you can bet the overcards more often because at least some players will play them fast when they hit couse they dont face that K overcard to their hand. The same with straights and all stronger hands. Many bad players just cant stand the heat here and will start to build the pot not even think about your range. Some fish will donk, some fish will checkraise and some will checkcall. So here they let you know I think way more often that they have a hand by the turn. Therefore I would barrel face card turn and river if they check or probably valuebet my hand if I have some.
K77fd- here all above + FDs could float. dependent on players fishiness you could even see hands like 23s, so really any flushdraw, but here comes to mind that even the fish on my level tend to play FD+ overs fast so they checkraise or donk with it . On the other hand the also let you know when they hit the flush almost always with their standard line checkcall checkcall donkshove river or donkbet big. I remeber very few times where they check the river to let you hang yourself. So here I would probably barrel the most even with air when checked to.
thank you for someone finnally answering my post much appreciated and enjoyed your analysis, i will take these situations into account when playing =]

Ryan promissed to check this topic for us and give us his oppinion also so it could help a lot more.
What did you expect to happen? Without knowing your hand, how should we know if you should barrel again or not? You can have 32o or you can hold AA in your examples. Eventually it is all about equity and equity is the result of "fold equity" & "showdown equity". Without knowing your hand, your opponents range and knowing nothing at all except for the fact, that our opponent does not have a fd...nobody CAN give a reasonable answer. That is why you did not receive any answers for days. I mean...come on we do not even know how deep we are, how much money is left etc. pp. What did you expect?
Hi.
