I have a general question about playing top pair hands vs. LAGs (Maniacs) on drawheavy flops and how to avoid difficult decisions on the river (or turn) if a scare card comes up.

Most of the time I play pretty loose aggressive too, but from time to time I have some problems with guys playing back at me overaggressive or just act like maniacs.

So it sometimes happens, that I raise with a good hand preflop, flop top pair, good kicker, I cbet, turn is  a blank, bet turn for value and boom - river is a pretty scary card and the maniac donks nearly pot.

Let´s say its hard to make any reads on this guy by his potsizing. He overbets pots in the past with strong hands and also with bluffs.

Is it better to check the turn for potcontrol and call the river not matter what card comes up against these guys?
