It would be great if the videos used the MP4 which is more efficient than WMV and also works on iOS, OS X, Linux, etc. without hassle. I really can't see any disadvantages to this and using this format is just as easy through Camtasia. If any of you are against switching to MPEG4, I'd be curious why.
Hi,I'm not against the change, however, I'm curious as to your opinion of the positives and negatives of both MP4 and WMV.
I honestly can't think of a technical advantage for WMV. MP4 has better quality, better compression, and better compatibility. The only downside is that the MP4 standard requires licensing of patented technology. Although, the developers of Camtasia clearly paid for this license or it wouldn't be an export option. Thus, there's no practical problem with this.It would be great if it was at least an option. I miss being able to put the videos on my iPhone like for DeucesCracked or PokerSavvy Plus.

there is a thread about how to convert these movies to MP4 format. "Super" allows free and bulk conversion.don't have the link available but just search for ipod or something alike.
There's another simple, free and open-source solution here: http://www.mirovideoconverter.com However, I'd still prefer if I didn't need to do any of this . :)

So far, I've never had any problems watching any of these videos on Linux - in fact, I watch close to 99% of all the videos on Linux.I'm using VLC, btw.: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
