probably the worst card in the deck

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter BBHero1440  BTN777freedom1560  Effective Stacks: 72bb Blinds 10/20 Pre-Flop (30, 2 players) Hero is BB 777freedom calls 10, Hero raises to 80, 777freedom calls 60 Flop (160, 2 players) Hero bets 100, 777freedom calls 100 Turn (360, 2 players) Hero bets 200, 777freedom calls 200 River (760, 2 players) Hero bets 260, 777freedom folds Final Pot: 1020 Hero wins 1020 ( won +380 ) 777freedom lost -380Not sure what is he best way to play this hand, I don't think that I should have raised his limp with it, but I'm more interested in the river. How are you playing this river readless? What reads would you want if you were to c/f? what reads to bet/fold? and are you ever c/c?

Check pre. Donk or c/r flop.

Check pre. Donk or c/r flop. Bet turn, bet/fold river. It is clearly suicidal to play bloated pot oop with junky holdings, yes?

I also think bet/folding the

I also think bet/folding the river is better than check calling.  More than anything else its a good form of pot control.  If you check to him, he could make a huge bet and its gonna be a frustrating spot.  Its such a scary board that I can't see him bluff raising the river.  I think your size is pretty good too.  The rule I (and I'm sure most) go by is that if you are out of position on the river and you're deciding bet/fold vs check/call..  If the villains range is likely to have more missed draws and air, then a bluff catch (check/call) is better.  If the villains range is likely to have more made hands than draws in it then a bet/fold is best, to deny him the chance to check back and get to showdown. Its pretty close because there are quite a few better hands in his range, but I think the fact that he won't bluff raise you often (if ever) means that I prefer trying to get small value out of other 2 pairs / top pair type hands. Having said all this, there has been nothing said about how the villain plays.  So this is all 'in a vacuum' type theory.

Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot guysHappyhamReally helpful answer dude much appreciatedNekroIf I expect the villain to be folding to the majority of my attacks on his limps are you rasing this hand pre? or would you rather just check this  and raise more junky hands?

I'd devise my limp attacking

I'd devise my limp attacking range based on villains tendencies. Obviously if he folds a ton you put more junk in your range, if he calls (or reraises) often then I will have more value hands. I would also attack for 60-70 but thats my personal preference. Also take into consideration how villain plays flops. For example, against villain who will often potsize or overbet flop in limped pot its clearly a better choice to check often and wait for a decent hand to get paid off, while any aggressive action preflop (or on flop) might simply fold out all of his air.
