I've been playing turbo husngs, and recently reached the $30 limit. It seems like this is the limit where it starts to take time to get games going - at $15 levels and below you could get games pretty much instantly but unless you're willing to constantly sit regs it can take a while to get a $30 table going. So, this seems like a good time to consider switching to hypers. If I was willing to buy one of the ~$150 packs (i already have standard membership but not premium) which would people recommend for a turbo player learning hypers - premium, hyper turbo masters, or chadders' hyper turbo pack? Also, any standard membership videos people would recommend for learning hypers? Thanks in advance!
Definitely consider getting the Math pack. Since you are already fluent with post flop play it will give you a way to develop your own preflop ranges in a number of the new situations that come up short stacked. There are a lot of important mathematical spots that come up in hypers like 3b shoving, c/r shoving, open shoving, etc that are important to know how to get answers to--if you don't know how to compute them often times you're left guessing.
Since you have standard currently you can get a feel for the pack by viewing the parts that were available to standard members. The new videos in the math pack are the ones that work towards giving you advanced tools and work on putting everything together to allow you to start building strategies, so they are definitely very valuable but at least the standard ones can give you an idea of how appealing the math pack would be to you.
I've heard solid things about the chadders' pack as well, though I haven't viewed it myself. I've heard it is a bit more "spoon feeding" whearas I made the math pack to allow you to make the most improvement on your own as possible so that your progress as a player isn't capped due to having set strategies that you don't fully understand and likely do not know the holes in them. Still, spoon feeding is a good way to boost roi so definitely something to seriously consider :)
I think the masters pack and premium are likely great ways to continue your improvement once you move up in stakes as they will often go through more specific spots rather than general leaks, but maybe Ryan can chime in a bit as to the value of these for a new hypers player. Premium is certainly very high value in terms of $/videos so it should definitely be on your list of things to buy--just an issue of what order in the end.
Hope this helps, good luck with the transition!
Thanks for the advice coffee! I missed your pack because it wasn't listed under the hyper turbos section, heh :P For now I'm gonna watch your math vids that are std membership level, and chadder's std vids too, and then decide what to get. I'll take your advice on holding off on premium & masters for later, so I'll probably get the math pack or chadder's hyper turbo pack.
On a side note, the word "pack" is quickly losing all meaning to me.
