Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton
Twitter: ikepoker
Isaac Haxton was born on the East Coast of the United States but raised in Syracuse, New York. His high level of intelligence, which matched his family of writers, doctors, and artists, led him to learn the game of chess at four-years old and to compete in the strategy game Magic: The Gathering by the age of ten. Through the Magic group of friends, he also learned about poker, which he began to take seriously by his first year of college, studying computer science, at Brown University. Haxton first visited the Turning Stone casino at the age of 18, which was in 2006, and started playing $3/$6 limit hold’em cash games, all the while studying the game through dozens of poker books and online forums. He moved up in limits mostly because of his intense online poker play, earning more than $40K in only three months. By 2007, he was ready to put his education on hold, with familial support, and try the tournament scene. His first big score came quickly, as Haxton finished in second place at the World Poker Tour PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, which was worth $861,789, though that money was famously caught up in a Neteller funds seizure by the U.S. government. Since then, he has become a regular on the tournament scene, racking up two more deep WPT cashes and numerous ones at the World Series of Poker, including final tables in 2007 and 2008. His 2009 second place finish at the WSOP was in the $40K buy-in anniversary tournament that garnered him more than $1.1 million. In 2010, he won his first event at the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza and continues to impress at the tournament tables.
