Showdown and Non-Showdown winings confusion.

Hi there,

I have a question about a non-showdown winnings graph. I am so confused with all the ev graphs in PT4 but I want to understand them and eventually find my leaks. Thus I hope you can help me in some way. I am currently playing 7$ hyper turbo HU's and I'm not doing that well.. The main issue that bothers me is my non-SD winnings graph. As you can see it goes straight down to level where it basically cancels out my showdown winnings..

Am I interpreting this graph correctly? That everything what I am winning with showdown I dump in non SD situations and end up braking even at the stakes?

But then why Net expected line is going up? the EV line seems to be going up too.. Im sooo confused at this point... :D

Does this info suggest that I am a brake even player at the stakes and the gap between the EV line and real winnings line is because I have to pay the rake? Or is it a bad run?

I would be thankful for any clarification as it seems that I cannot move forward without understanding these things. Thanks for you answers :)

Non-Showdown winnings pretty

Non-Showdown winnings pretty much show you your income from bluffing the opponent out of the hand. I don't think the stat is any good in SNGs.

You are pretty break even in chips, but are a losing player in $. As you al ready assumed that is due to the rake (you pay $7 to receive 500 chips, but only can trade in 500 chips for 6.85)

The meaning of the EV line is explained here:

All the non-showdown winnings show is the winnings you get from pots that didn't get to showdown.

They are not necessarily bluffs.

They can be value bets that didn't get called too.

And non-showdon winnings are most certainly important.

In HUSNGs your chip EV approximates your $EV because there are no ICM considerations and winner takes all (less the rake).

You only have a reciprocal edge on your opponent that will net out to a profit in the long term in spots where you would take a different and more +EV line to him if your positions were reversed.

Taking down dead money (a subset of non-showdown winnings) where your opponent gives up on the pot without a strong hand (a lot of the time in heads up holdem) is a large source of this reciprocal edge.

since pokertracker calculates your EV with the rake in mind, it seems you are a bit unlucky when it comes to the push/fold phase. the difference is not due to the rake.

Thanks for your answers.

Thanks for your answers. Thats what I wanted to know.

So basically if the orange EV line is taking rake into account I should be a slight winner, but at the moment I am just running crap.. ( I'm not sure if crap is the word to describe my run.. I am around 120bi's below EV at 3.5$ and 7$ combined).

The EV line i explained in

The EV line i explained in another thread and posted the link here.

You are a losing player in real money and a winning player in EV.

However, your sample size is to small to confirm anything just yet
