Speed format to start out on?

Hey there,

I am just trying out HU-Sngs and noticed the most popular format on pokerstars seems to be hypers.  Is this the format I should be concentrating on for videos and stuff? Or should i start out with a format that is a little slower?

I would suggest to start out

I would suggest to start out in hyper. The only reason I started out in turbos and regular speeds is because there were no hypers. I think a lot of people can say the same.
It'll be easiest to learn end game concepts and struggle through major leaks when you're risking the smallest amount of money. Also, it's not like a strong end game isn't required to be a good turbo player.
The amount of info available, the speed of the games, the availability of players at any buyin level and the possibility of a high hourly rate make hypers the best game to learn for most, so I would go with them from the start.
Turbos can be good too, especially off Stars, there are some nice soft games and fair rake... but the majority of players should probably focus on hypers (or hypers and turbos) when playing. Going turbos only I'm not a big fan of, unless you've already played another form of poker, deeper stack perhaps, and you want to transition into hypers, turbos can be a stepping stone where your deeper stacked skills make it easier to pick up on 30-50bb play. But you'd still need to focus on short stack play in that scenario too, you just get to 8-30bb too often in a turbo not to need a strong end game to get a big edge.

Thanks!

Thanks for your help! I did play some $1.50s and found them to be pretty soft.  I have played some 6max and full ring sngs in the past but this concept seems a little forgein to me.  It is super interesting with all of the adjustments.  I am curious about what videos I should be going to after I finish the pdf.  There are a bunch of recommended ones at the end of the pdf, but this requires a Premium membership.  I am not really sure how long I am going to do this for so I am not sure if I want to invest $150 right away.  Just curious where you think I should be going from when I am done the pdf.

I am still loving the Waldie

I am still loving the Waldie - thinking like a winner series. :)
There are lots of paths to go...I simply would recommend that you get videos from one coach at a time. Most coaches have different styles. If you watch 10 videos from 10 different coaches, all talking about basics, there might be some information that conflict with each other, what might be rather confusing for you.

Hi.
