Jon,
Thank you very much for the email ; I learn a lot from you both your videos comments and email advice.
I didn' write you back earlier only because I "suffered" a tough downswing on full tilt, and was a little mad about it ; "thatsbadnass" shark figure fell down from +2000 to -800 on full tilt.I am aware that I didn't play my A game but couldn't (or wouldn't) realise soon enough to stop. Actually I have huge difficulties to self discipline myself!!!
Two days ago I moved back on pokerstars under "nassplif" and I'm planning to play almost exclusively 4 handed (2 hu)
I bought three months ago the mathematics of poker by Bill chen and as I made some studies in mathematics I managed to calculate the risk of ruin of a bankroll if I play only 4 handed and win 30% of the time. The result was that, at a 34.5$ buyin to get a risk of ruin below 5% I need to reach a bkr of 1100$ (and I 'm almost there :-) )
1.Do you think 5% is low enough risk or should I get a larger bkr at this level?
2.If a 69$ 4 handed had exist would it be more profitable to do 1 of these at a time or 2 4 handed at 34.5$ at the same time?
3.I'm sensing that I need a strict rule to not get broke again : Do you think that stopping (and shuttin down this damn computer) the set after a loosing streak of 3 games would be a good one?
4.Every human being is different and can be better.I'd love to be better (Being a poker player is being a permanent student isn't it?) so if you know a book you like on self discipline and one on self confidence could you tell me the authors and names?
I'm aware I'm asking you a lot so if it takes to much time to answer just tell me,I'm flattered you already respond to me in the first place, you are not one of those Phil helmuth full of oneself :-)
Take care,
Prlly u want an answer from the istructors, but i give u my 2 cents:
1)I think just move down when ur BR is like an half of the original size,if u r able to move down when it goes wrong ur risk of ruin is near 0(assuming u r a winning player obv)
2)I think playng 1 table give u a better EV cause 2tabling u spread ur edge a bit, however 1tabling u make less games and the variance strikes harder in the short period
3)I think a los streak of 3 games is a too strict stop loss, that's a very standard deviation and happens almost evry day,I red Primo AA recommends to quit after losing 5 BI
4)I think "poker mindset" can help u
