Had a quick chat with Croix yesterday, and came up with a somewhat unconventional idea for a video or even audio recording.
When I was a DC member, I had the pleasure of watching a video where Tommy Angelo (author of Elements of Poker, good book, read it!) discussed mental aspects of poker. HU requires a lot more "mental strength and balance" than a lot of other forms of poker, because you get to play so many hands. This also counts for HUSNGs, because if you're not playing your A-game, you can lose a ton of games in a very short amount of time...we've all been there ;)
So would it be possible to get all the instructors together for a "round table discussion" about this subject? It could be presented in the form of a Powerpoint video, but even an audio recording would be great. I really think a ton of people would benefit from this. It would also limit the amount of badbeat stories I have to listen to, lol...I could just refer 'em to this site and video.
Possible subjects for discussion would be:
- Coping with tilt: Preventing it, counter measures, etc.
- Playing your A-game, and ways to play your A-game for longer.
- Exploiting tilting opponents
- "Grinding" strategies: goal setting, etc.
Obviously you might come up with more than just that ;)
Would love a video like this. I liked the tip croix offered yesterday about setting aside 3 weeks to just grind your ass off.
