First off, I'm super impressed with everything on this site and by far the best $25 I've ever spent on anything poker related.I'd like to add a few suggestions that maybe you guys could keep in mind:Very specific plays or concept videos. I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but I really like powerpoint videos (and obviously it's nice to have some accompanying live play or reviewed play). Having powerpoint slides and commentary would be incredible for these subjects that I'm thinking of.
- Opening Ranges (default ranges, how they should change based on villains betsizing, what hands should you be calling 3bets with, etc...)
- Hand Reading, Putting villains on a range (this would be incredible for us to have a video on. I think this would probably work really well if you made up hands and showed how you can narrow the range down from pre-flop to river. Just being able to see the correct thinking process during a hand would be priceless for most of us).
- Pot odds and Implied odds, Equity and Fold Equity. (I'm guessing that a lot of beginning husng players still are confused about these, and having a powerpoint video with some basic understanding of them would be great. Shortcuts like the 4 and 2 rule or Phil Gordons pocket pair formula for example).
- Drawing (examples of how to play your draws against different opponents. How to maximize your payoff if a draw hits or misses).
- Pot control
- Thinking of the streets to come
- Slowplaying (when to slowplay, when not to, what opponents to do it with.)
- Betsizing (consistency, deception, bluff)
Yes you can find these concepts in bits and pieces throughout live plays or review videos (and of course there are a few specifically focused videos), but I think it would be incredibly useful if we had more whole videos devoted to focused concepts so that when we see them in live play, we'll be able to know just what to do or how to think about it more clearly. These highly specific concepts are usually only found in articles which is helpful, but people come to husng.com for the videos especially and I think people learn easier and are more attentive to videos. I would think that someone who isn't a member would be HIGHLY swayed to join the site if they saw videos that focused right on a concept that they are struggling with or are excited to learn about. Not that I'm knocking the sites material, but someone seeing "Rypac plays a nit" is nowhere near as sexy as "The streets ahead", "How to slowplay those maniacs", "Mastering pot odds in 15 minutes", or "Rangefinding like a motherf&^#r"In all seriousness, it would just be amazing to have some more videos on specific topics and I'm sure it would be more fun to make videos on those instead of recording videos trying to find a certain opponent that fits the subject you're trying to make a video topic on. Someone on 2p2 is calling some pot sized bet with a gutshot on the turn, and is just begging for a reply of "Dude, go watch "Mastering pot odds in 15 minutes by Mersenneary on husng.com" rather than "go to husng.com and look for "Fydor against an aggressive bettor volume IX subsection XXII at 3:20minutes in" (sorry for the long post, I'm just trying to give honest feedback. And don't think I don't appreciate how the videos are produced because I LOVE THEM all).
"The streets ahead"Great suggestions all around, but this one was above and beyond all of them.
thanks for listening and liking it!Another cool thing I remember seeing in a 2p2 post in a cash game forum was where someone had posted a few hands, described that he was a solid tag and noted his reads on villain. Then everyone would have to respond by guessing what hand our hero was holding. Instead of trying to pick apart villains range, it would be kind of fun to have a few well played hands by one of you guys and try to guess what hand our hero is holding based on his actions and reads on villain. There's such high quality information on here but it would be interesting to have more ways to test how we're thinking than just posting HH's or general questions.
Here are some other threads with some suggestions for videos and related material:http://www.husng.com/content/video-feedbackhttp://www.husng.com/content/some-video-requestshttp://www.husng.com/content/suggestion-video-about-using-hem-pinpoint-leaksPowerpoint videos are extremely time-consuming to plan and prepare, but I also believe that they are also by far the most time-efficient way to learn many "basic" concepts.Great suggestions on topics.
Think i will just comment every time I see a thread about concept videos. I also love the powerpoint presentation videos. It is without a doubt the best teaching format for people like me (if you are not like me you might want to change lol). Seeing concepts or tactics presented in power point videos, then seeing those concepts and tactics demonstrated by hand replayer is just awesome. After the power point presentation and hand replayer demonstration, live videos just seem to come to life.PaulIB_FishingConcept Video Supporter
This (and the video discussion forum) is the right place to suggest this stuff (saw your other thread comment).Lets just continue any discussion here: http://www.husng.com/content/concept-video-ideas just to keep it all in one thread.MJW and ITRIED are working on these and we should have a few out in January, perhaps within the next week.
I'm not really sure where to wright this suggestion but it got something with videos about specific subject so I'll wright it here. It would be very good when we could search videos by specific category without entering any keywords. Its anoying when I want to find some videes eg. about 4bets and when i select that category and press search i get that error couse I didnt enter any keywords. Edit: i figured out another way how can i find videos with specifi tag:-)By the way is there any other video about 4 bets that you can recomend to me besides Cog Dissonance video 4
No specific 4-bet videos come to mind, though I'm sure there are some with good 4-bet analysis. If you don't find what you need just post some examples with questions in the hand review forum and I'll take a look at it.
If anyone can recomend some of those videos with good 4-bet analysis I would apreciate it. Or maybe post link on some article where its discused
http://www.husng.com/content/skates-ps-im-alive-and-betting-vid08this might do the trick for you
thank you for recomendation. I'm having problems to watch this and some other Skates videos. In this one I dont hear any sounds and in some other i can hear sounds from poker table but i can't hear what he is talking. Is any one experince this problems, do you know which codec should I install. I have tried watch it in GOM player and Media player classic and I installed codecs that come with GOM player and K lite codec pack edit: i manage to play it.
Try Quicktime and you might need to use audio track 2 I believe.
