Say I can generate around 1200 VPPs a month (i.e. enough to reach Silver VIP) which generates 1800 FPPs per month (with the Silver FPP Multiplier), what, in your opinion, is the best way to spend these?
I would just play satellites if you don't want to save them for future (hopeful) Supernova+ status.
Another option, which depends totally on PokerStars management, is to use them for the monthly "specials" where they allow you to redeem them for cash bonuses at the Supernova rate.
They did one of those in June, but there isn't one for July.
Either way, unless you don't care much and just want to buy store merchandise, I would go with one of those routes.
Can't you just buy one of these cash bonuses ? They're also available to silver vips, though the exchange rate is really bad. The only problem with these is that you have to clear them, so you generate more fpp's in the process.
I burned all of mine in May, when they had this cash special and didn't play on Stars since then.

I say that as a supernova for the last two years though, when I started I bought a cash bonus, some christmas gifts and played a few sats. I thought very little of it. I wouldn't stress over it, but having a plan on what to do with fpps is a good idea, especially if that plan is the most +EV.
I wouldn't focuss on the fpp's to much, just save them up for when you can buy the big cash bonusses because those give you the best value except from sattelites but you got to play them and can lose your fpp and it take away time. You can also wait for another montly promotion like in june.
