I play randomly throughout the day, rarely at night and almost never on Sunday for the last year bc I now golf on Sunday.
I plan to split it up a little bit and get more games in now that it's warm.
The ideal schedule for me this summer will be something like wakeup, eat breakfast, check site stuff, play some games, do whatever I have to do (work, golf, errands, etc.) come back, lunch, check site, play more games. Then some fill in time, more games then night comes and I usually just hang out with my girlfriend. It's been a nice compromise that has kept our relationship continuously improving but it has come at the expense of the fishiest time to play poker (night). On the bright side I get like no volume in so I don't feel too bad about missing nights. That may change if I can increase my volume to a respectable level, but that's a tough decision I don't mind having (sorta like the guy deciding whether or not to go to one son's graduate school graduation or the other's baby shower... heh).
I guess the best point I'm making here, or at least the most generally applicable point, is that spreading out sessions can be very beneficial. I haven't heard of many people saying "I must play my 5 hours a day in a row, I can't space it out" but I have heard a lot of players claim benefits to spacing out sessions. I think in heads up poker it's especially important, as burn out and recognition of burnout can be very tough at times.
