Olivier Wins Over $220,000
Olivier Busquet defeated Helio TYF in the final round of the WCOOP High Roller heads up poker event, winning in dramatic fashion. Olivier was dealt KK in the BB at just over 100bb effective stacks. He 3bet Helio TYF's minraise from 160 to 480 and Helio called. The flop came Tc5d4d, Olivier led out for half pot and Helio raised just under 3x. Olivier reraised, Helio put in another reraise and Olivier then shoved his entire 10k+ chip stack in. Helio called and flipped over 5c4c. The board ran out with two nines and Olivier took the pot and the match home with a stronger two pair hand.
Olivier wins $224,000 for his effort. Helio takes home $128,000. 64 players entered the tournament. Notable finishers include Elky (8th) with $40,000, and Pistons87 bubbled the money finishing in 12th. Skaiwalkurrr finished 23rd.
Since coming off of a big WSOP guest announcer spot, one that was met with wide praise, Olivier has been struggling in the high stakes heads up sng games, as documented in the weekly high stakes reports. Tonight's win, reportedly without any deal at the final table, he more than erases his recent downswing.
Olivier is the biggest winner of all time in heads up sngs, bringing in well over 3 million dollars, over twice as much as the 2nd most profitable player.
